Namibia

From wonderful wildlife of Etosha to the spectacular landscapes of Namib-Naukluft national park Namibia has plenty to tempt any traveller. June is a perfect time to visit this southern African nation as it is during the height of the winter period when temperatures are cool and pleasant, making for wonderful conditions to head out on morning and afternoon game drives without the sweltering heat of summer. So head to Namibia in June and discover a land of remarkable natural beauty, incredible wildlife and age-old culture.

Turkey

Roman ruins, exotic spice markets, surreal landscapes, sublime coastline, grand palaces and majestic mosques abound in Turkey, making it a mesmerising destination for any traveller. June is one of the best times to visit this fascinating country when temperatures are warm and the skies are clear of rainclouds.  After taking in the sights and delights of Turkey why not set out on an island hopping adventure in the Dodecanese and Aegean Sea, taking in the beautiful isles of both Turkey and Greece.

Mexico

From the spectacular Pyramids of the Sun and Moon at Teotihuacan and the magnificent Mayan ruins of Palenque and Chichen Itza, to the wide sandy beaches and azure waters of the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico offers a wealth of diverse and wonderful attractions. Mexico is a year-round destination, with brilliant blue skies and wonderfully warm temperatures, so why not travel in June? Discover pretty colonial towns, travel through stunning landscapes – from snow-capped mountains, to lush highlands, or live the fast life in Mexico’s vibrant and bustling capital city.

Russia

While Russia is a wonderful winter destination, with snow covered landscapes, delicate birch trees laden with frost and steamy banya houses, spring and summer offer something slightly different. June reveals beautifully coloured flowers and manicured lawns at many of Russia’s most famous palaces, parks and gardens, while previously spindly birch trees now heave with green foliage. Temperatures rise in Moscow and St Petersburg to a warming 21C, and clear skies abound, making for perfect conditions to explore all that Russia has to offer.

Stay tuned next month for the best places to visit in July.
