Vietnam

September is the time of year when family and friends gather in Vietnam to give thanks for what they have and to wish for what they do not during the incredible Full Moon Festival. During this special time, locals release thousands of beautiful lanterns into the night sky or onto a river and consume traditional moon cakes – and the festivities in Hoi An are especially spectacular. While September is the perfect time to visit Vietnam to take part in this local celebration, it is also approaching the end of the rainy season so expect warm weather and occasional bursts of cooling rainfall.

Morocco

Although just a short hop from Europe, the culture, history and landscape of this North African country is a world apart. A sensory overload of sights sounds and smells, Morocco excites all of the senses and has to be seen to be believed. For a truly unique holiday, join a nomadic Berber family as they make their bi-annual migration from the High Atlas Mountains to the lower Dades Valley in September. Trek though rugged terrain, cross steep passes, pass Berber villages tucked away in picturesque valleys and camp each night in rustic Burber tents while enjoying the peaceful surrounds.

Jordan

From the archeological riches of the lost city of Petra and the vast red landscape of the Wadi Rum, to fascinating ruins, biblical landmarks and the buoyant Dead Sea, Jordan has something for everyone. And while Jordan is a year-round destination, with long hot summers and short cool winters, some times of year are better to visit than others. In September the climate cools to a comfortable temperature making it the perfect time to enjoy a desert safari and camp under the stars in the Wadi Rum, and to uncover the mysteries of Petra and the capital city of Amman.

Japan

From the end of September Japan begins its metamorphosis into autumn, as the country transforms into stunning hues of yellow, orange and red, with warm days and cool evenings. This pleasant climate makes it a wonderful time to enjoy all that Japan has to offer, whether its shopping till you drop in Tokyo, meeting geisha in Kyoto, wandering through the Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima, experiencing the nightlife in Osaka, or discovering the spectacular landscapes of Hakone National Park and admiring views of iconic Mt Fuji.
