African Bush Camps have launched a new Khwai Tented Camp designed to give travellers from all over the world the authentic safari experience.
The safari specialist has secured a semi-permanent site following extensive meetings with the Khwai Community.
It is hoped the location, which is on the eastern border of the Moremi Game reserve, will give tourists a unique way to experience Africa and its exceptional wildlife.
The camp is set on the banks of a picturesque lagoon that flows into the Khwai river and acts as a boundary between the reserve and the community area.
While day-time drives to the typical big attractions such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffalo and giraffes are essential, the Kwai camp's setting also provides the opportunity to explore the lagoon by mokoro safaris.
At night, travellers can see how the landscape and wildlife changes with drives also taking place after sunset, while professional guides will also take tours of the area on foot.
The Khwai Tented Camp has six meru-style tents on raised decking that is along the edge of and overlooking the lagoon.
