One of India's most successful budget airlines, IndiGo, has revealed it will offer new daily services flying from Chennai in South India to Singapore from March this year.
A top official from the carrier said: "With rising business and tourism stemming from the region, IndiGo is determined to provide the best travel experience to all those who wish to fly to Singapore from southern parts of the country."
The carrier also intends to provide cheap flights to Singapore from Hyderabad and Bangalore as part of its expansion.
The airline said the new flights are being offered due to a high level of interest from travellers looking to fly to the destinations for leisure or business reasons.
IndiGo is also planning to launch a two-way ticket offer to reduce costs for its customers. The deal offers return tickets at a price of INR 15,998. Reservations for the international flights from South India, to be offered from March 1, have already been opened.
With a greater range of flight options now available to travellers, it is predicted that the airline will become even more popular with holidaymakers and business travellers who prefer fast and direct flights.
