Bus app aids passage through India's Delhi

24th Jul 2013

Tourists on city breaks to the breath-taking Indian destination of Delhi will now be able to get around even better - thanks to a new travel app.

A spokeswoman for The Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS), said the Delhi Transit Bus Info app will give information including bus schedules, times, routes, bus stops and which bus to take for reaching your destination.

The app for DIMTS, which manages cluster buses, is available on the internet and on Android-based devices with information exclusively about cluster buses to begin with.

The spokeswoman added: "The app is available for only orange-coloured Delhi Transit buses, except for the Trip Planner feature which gives data on Delhi Transport Corporation bus routes too."

Tourists to Delhi are spoilt for choice for things to do. Attractions include the Red Fort, Lotus Temple, Humayun's Tomb, Connaught Place (one of the country's biggest financial centres), Akshardham Temple and the India Gate monument.

The Red Fort is one of the city's most visited cultural sites, a 17th-century structure and UNESCO World Heritage Site constructed by the Mughal emperor.
