Eva Longoria on Guatemala charity mission

Eva Longoria travelled to Guatemala on March 20 as part of a charity mission designed to help farmers develop their own businesses.

The former Desperate Housewives star visited the Central American country with philanthropist Howard G Buffet.

They saw first-hand projects that were set up five years ago by the World Food Programme with the help of funds from Buffet's foundation.

The American actress told her Twitter followers about the farming facts she was learning while on the trip to the country, which is known for its natural beauty and incredible cultural relics.

"These r (are) some amazing farmers!... Did you guys know this is where cashews come from!! This beautiful fruit bears the nut on top! It's inside! Cool!" she said on the micro-blogging site.

She also told her Twitter followers about the process of picking and roasting cacao beans before they are smoothed into a paste ready for chocolate products.
