Morocco is bracing itself to stage one of Africa and the world's most exotic and prestigious festivals and events this summer.
Every year Marrakech Popular Arts Festival (Festival National des Arts Populaires) attracts tourists seeking culture and excitement who book tailor-made holidays around the five-day event.
This year it is held from June 29-July 3.
The music, dance and art jamboree features artists from eclectic corners of Morocco, Africa, Asia, Europe and around the world.
It includes a diverse fusion of artists, dancers, fortune tellers, theatre groups, snake charmers and other performers.
The main events are held at the historical El Badi Palace ruins, which contain rich historical significance, having been destroyed in the 1600s, only 25 years after the original stately building was constructed.
Place Djemaa El Fna, Marrakech's main square, also hosts a myriad of exciting events with so many things to see and do.
The square is a huge favourite among shoppers, with its cafes, food stalls and elegant retailers and quirky sideshows, including traditional entertainers, magicians, snake charmers, storytellers and men with monkeys.
