Gangnam Style is officially YouTube's most popular video of all time, with South Korean rapper PSY's global sensation attracting more than 800 million views.
The catchy tune had been watched 805 million times as of Sunday afternoon, leapfrogging Justin Bieber's Baby, which has had 803 million hits, as the most viewed video ever, according to a post on YouTube's Trends blog.
It is thought the dance craze could do wonders for South Korea's tourism industry, with people wanting to find out more about living with Gangnam Style.
PSY's video featuring dancing which has been mimicked globally was posted on the site in July, while Bieber's hit was uploaded in February 2010. YouTube's blog says the "velocity of popularity for PSY's outlandish video is unprecedented".
PSY has become an overnight sensation, with United Nations secretary general and compatriot Ban Ki-moon joking in October that the rapper had taken his mantle as "the most famous Korean".
Mr Ban joined millions worldwide in attempting a few of PSY's dance moves. The dance craze could do wonders for South Korea's tourism industry.
