Jodhpur's on for an India folk festival

10th Jun 2013

Mick Jagger is giving his support to one of India's most celebrated music festivals and events.

The Rolling Stone is a patron of the UNESCO-endorsed Rajasthan International Folk Festival (RIFF), which takes place in Jodhpur from October 17-21.

Holidaymakers on city breaks on the edge of the stunning Thar Desert can take in the event, which will see more than 250 local and international artists converge on the stunning Mehrangarh Fort.

A heady fusion of sights, smells and sounds is promised, from whirling dancers to the constant aroma of curried meats and the raucous beat of Bollywood percussionists.

Whether you're looking for quirky locations for family holidays and luxurious honeymoons, a taste of adventure or a cultural getaway, Rajasthan's romance will get under your skin and make you never want to leave.

From the colourful "Pink City" capital of Jaipur to the famous Amber Fort, you'll have endless incredible memories to take back home with you.
