Lady Gaga meets lions in South Africa

5th Dec 2012

Lady Gaga is well known for her wild and unusual outfits but now she has come face to face with some real wildlife on a trip to South Africa.

The pop star took to Twitter after encountering a pride of lions while on a safari.

The 26-year-old tweeted she was just 10ft away from 13 lions and two cubs while she took time to relax from her world tour while in South Africa. She reported watching the animals for half an hour as she posted a picture of herself near the creatures on the social networking site.

She had got out of the safari jeep to take the photographs while the pride was asleep. Gaga went on to tweet the lions had woken up while she was there and had allowed her to get an even closer look.

Lady Gaga added a bit of wild cat fashion to her ensemble as she went in search of the real thing with a leopard print scarf. She teamed it with a customised green hat and large green earrings.

The singer arrived in South Africa a few days ago when she flew into Johannesburg to perform at the FNB Stadium for her world tour.

After the show she described the South African city as wonderful, saying she was so happy she couldn't put her feelings into words but that she was looking forward to continuing her tour.
