Metallica light skies of Mexico City

6th Aug 2012

Iconic rockers Metallica are currently wowing crowds in Mexico City with a number of dates in the capital.

The band are playing a string of shows at the city's Sports Palace - which draw to a close on August 8 before they head off to San Francisco for the next leg of the tour.

More than 22,000 people watched the first show, with singer James Hetfield creating tension with a pre-gig announcement that the band were "very focused on how dangerous this show is".

The first show saw the band revive a performance from the late Nineties which featured explosions, pyrotechnics and laser lights screaming across the night sky.

The spectacle was a reenactment of the Cunning Stunts video album.

Fans were told by the band to expect tracks from across their three decades of playing. And they weren't disappointed either, with For Whom The Bell Tolls, Cyanide, Sad But True and Fade To Black among the well-known set-list.
