Morocco is the place to be for film buffs this November and December as the Marrakech International Film Festival takes centre stage once more.
This year is the 12th edition of the festival and it will celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema, with a host of artistes and filmmakers from the country visiting to take part, and a special tribute to the delegation held on December 1, 2012.
Amitabh Bachchan will lead the Indian delegation to the festival, which has been active in promoting Indian cinema in the past. Stars such as Aamir Khan, Shashi Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai, Nandita Das and Preita Zinta are just some of the names who have attended.
The festival, which is hosted under the High Patronage of His Majesty the King Mohammed VI and run by a foundation headed by His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, will screen Indian films in Jemaa el Fna Square.
Mrs Melita Toscan Du Plantier is this year's Festival Director, while Mr Jalil Laguili is General Secretary, Mr. Abdelkrim Aazibou is Administrator-Treasurer and other guests include Yash Chopra, Saif Ali Khan, Shekhar Kapur and Aparna Sen.
