Sunburn 2012 festival has taken Mumbai by storm, attracting thousands of fans to the area for a weekend of dance music.

The festival hosted a massive selection of artists for its sixth edition at Candolim Beach in what has become known as Asia's biggest music festival.

At the end of the first day it was reported some 50,000 revellers had made the pilgrimage to the event.

DJ Sander van Doorn and Grammy nominee Brian Transeau (BT) led the event in an electrifying manner which left festival goers amazed and set the tone for the rest of the three-day festival.

The festival partnered with YouTube for live real-time streaming for online users across 100 countries, which drew in a huge 1.2 million viewers on the first day.

Seven stages saw acts such as Faizal Rego + SU, Ma Faiza, Sashanti, and Joof perform to thousands throughout the weekend.

Festival-goers were in their element watching some of the top DJs and artists from around the world.

Percept Limited joint managing director Shailendra Singh said: "In its sixth year, Sunburn has progressed from being Asia's biggest and most desirable EDM festival, into a movement for social change."
