A new toll road that opens in a matter of days will cut the journey time from Delhi to the Taj Mahal by 50%.
Delhi has been a popular destination in India for a long time, boasting a number of its own tourist attractions, including numerous museums, gardens and temples, and reasonable proximity to the world famous mausoleum.
But the opening of a new 165km express road in a few days' time will make it even closer.
The toll road, built by Yumuna Expressway Authority, will charge vehicles Rs 346 (£4.05) and slash journey times to the monument in half to only two hours.
The Taj Mahal was built on the banks of the river Yamuna in Agra by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan between 1631 and 1653 as a tomb for his departed wife, and is now considered to be one of the world's greatest monuments to love.
The new toll road opens on Tuesday.
