Pop heartthrob turned TV presenter Peter Andre whisked his girlfriend Emily MacDonagh away on a romantic safari trip to Kenya recently.
The couple stayed at Meru National Park, an 870 sq km site in the centre of the country populated by lions, elephants, hippopotamus, leopards, cheetahs, black rhinos and a host of other wild animals.
The pair slept under the stars, with only a thin mosquito net between them and the wildlife roaming the park, while in Kenya filming Peter's ITV2 show My Life.
Meru was one of the two areas in which conservationists George and Joy Adamson used to raise Elsa the Lioness, the lion cub made famous in the award-winning movie Born Free.
Despite the pressures of filming, the couple managed to make some time for themselves to kick back and enjoy their surroundings.
"We turned off our phones while we were away and we had no internet or TV where we were staying, so it was great to get away from it all and properly relax," the 40-year-old presenter explained in his column in New! magazine.
"We enjoyed a few candlelit dinners and on the last night, we went to an amazing restaurant in Nairobi called Carnivore."
