Travellers heading for South Korea for luxury holidays have no excuse to miss the best the country has to offer thanks to an official list of 42 special attractions.
The country's tourism bosses are highlighting the nation's key events in the 2013 Culture Tourism Festivals of Korea, with spring and autumn considered to be the best seasons to enjoy the festivities and the best weather conditions the nation has to offer.
Spring in South Korea brings the Jindo Miracle Sea Festival and its 'Moses Miracle' when the sea seems to split in two, allowing visitors to walk to an island. The festival will run between 25-28 April.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism rates October as the best month to taste the nation's most important events, the Jinju Namgang Yudeung Lantern and Gimje Horizon festivals.
Visitors to the lantern festival can witness the spectacle of hundreds of lanterns floating on the Namgang River.
The best of South Korean culture, music and sport combine in the Gimje Horizon Festival when street parades, landscape art contests, traditional percussion and Korean wrestling draw the crowds.
