Pretenders to play Hong Kong gig

20th Aug 2012

People holidaying in Hong Kong with a penchant for punk and new-wave can buy tickets to see The Pretenders perform.

Chrissie Hynde and the rest of the band will treat fans to tracks from across the decades during the show on September 20 at the Kowloonbay International Trade and Exhibition Centre.

Those seeking nostalgia will love to hear tracks such as Brass In Pocket and Don't Get Me Wrong, however they will be played by a band that has been through many personnel changes since the songs were first performed.

US-born Hynde was a key fixture of the British music scene in the mid to late 1970s, moving in the same circles as iconic NME scribe Nick Kent and members of the Sex Pistols and the Clash.

But the night won't be restricted to nostalgia, for tracks from the 2008 record Break Up The Concrete are also likely to feature.

Tickets are available online from around £48.
