Carlos Santana is to play India's F1 Rocks later this month with a local blues rock band in support.
Soulmate played their first concert at the Roots Festival at the Water Sports Complex in Umiam and they're now preparing to warm up for world-renowned guitar virtuoso Santana.
F1 Rocks will take place on October 28 at Galgotia University Campus in Greater Noida. Lenny Kravitz, The Cranberries and Macy Gray are also lined up to perform.
Guitarist Rudy Wallang and vocalist Tipriti Kharbangar of Soulmate have played more than 500 concerts all over India and throughout Southeast Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the US but warming up the crowd for one of their heroes will still be a major highlight in their career.
"It is an honour for us to perform an opening act for global music icon Carlos Santana. Our music derives inspiration from his legendary compositions. It is like a dream come true for us. We are looking forward for this special moment," the pair said.
The duo are inspired by the legendary figures of blues, soul, rock 'n' roll, Funk and R&B and it is hoped Soulmate and Santana will draw a substantial crowd alongside the motor racing and boost tourism in the north of India.
