Tanzania labelled the "essence of eco-tourism"

14th May 2012

The Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Mount Kilimanjaro are just some of the natural riches that make Tanzania holidays so popular and the "essence of eco-tourism".

Thousands of travellers flock to the east African country each year to experience its culture and soak up its striking beauty.

Whatever you decide to do, be it taking part in a safari or climbing the tallest peak on the continent, the views of this incredible landscape will blow you away.

Tanzania's Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism recently became a member of the International Council of Tourism Partners (ICTP), with the president of the latter, Geoffrey Lipman, stating the nation is the hub of eco-tourism.

He said: "It brings into play a country where the wonders of nature in the Serengeti and Kilimanjaro blend with the exotic spice traditions and architecture of the island state of Zanzibar."
