New research into currency sales over the summer has revealed Vietnam is the biggest success story of the past few months.
Post Office Travel Money's Fastest Growing Currencies report shows currency sales for the country between June and August were up 68% compared to the same period a year earlier, suggesting Vietnam's popularity as a holiday destination has increased dramatically.
The launch of direct flights in December and the addition of a lot of new beach resorts has certainly helped its cause but Brazil and Mexico were not far behind Vietnam in the report.
Currency sales for Brazil rose by 66% year-on-year during the period, thanks in no small part to the fact sterling now buys 25% more Brazilian real than it did a year ago, and sales for Mexico were up 40%.
Mexico was last year's major success story, with a 144% growth in Post Office currency sales, and greater flight choice is predicted to lead to more people holidaying there.
