Where will you be going on holiday next year? Somewhere off the beaten track, according to ABTA.
Costa Rica, Brazil and Mexico have been named among its Destinations to Watch for 2014 - released as part of its Travel Trends Report.
The destinations include a blend of long, mid and short-haul hotspots, holiday favourites and emerging destinations which are expected to capture travellers' imaginations.
Costa Rica's sun-kissed republic offers tailor-made holidays for adventurous, outdoor types. Its Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve mountain rainforest habitat includes intense biodiversity, comprising more than 2,500 plant species, 400 birds and 100 mammals. Puerto Viejo offers world-class surfing, snorkelling, diving and reefs, while Cahuita National Park's coral reef and sumptuous beaches are baked in perfect weather.
Mexico is a playground for celebrities who appreciate sun-baking on a Caribbean beach after partying the night away in Cancún.
Tourists can also savour one of Mexico's many Mayan cultural sites. Major new Maya museums in Cancún and Mérida and the installation of Latin America's longest ziplines on the cusp of the jaw-dropping Copper Canyon are among the country's latest exciting developments.
Brazil is packed with UNESCO World Heritage locations.
Visitors on luxury tours can explore gilded colonial churches in frozen-in-time cities such as Ouro Preto, while Iguazu National Park includes one of the planet's most impressive waterfalls. Brazil is also the summer host of football's 2014 World Cup.
The Abta study forecasts cautious confidence in the travel sector for the next 12 months with consumers planning to spend more than they did in 2013.
It identified a number of key trends, a few of which are below.
Travellers are predicted to choose a different destination from a country with which they are already familiar.
Package holidays will continue to be popular, while tourists will also favour tried and tested countries close to home, such as Turkey.
The simple life - or authentic getaways which remove holidaymakers from their busy daily lives - are also set to be popular in the next 12 months.
Abta's other destinations to watch include Antigua, Greece, Malaysia, Mauritius, the Pacific Coast and Baja Oman, Portugal, Slovenia, Sicily, and Texas/New Mexico/Alaska.
