Hotel pick-ups commence prior to the tour start time. You will be collected from the hotel you have selected in the drop down list during the booking process. Your hotel pick-up time will be displayed on your voucher. If you wish to change your pick-up location from the one selected, you must call the operator at least 24 hrs prior to travel. If your hotel does not appear on the drop down list, the operator does not pick-up from your hotel. Please phone the operator to arrange an alternate pick-up time and location.

• Please note photography or filming is prohibited at the Penguin Parade. Penguins have sensitive eyes and a bright, sudden flash or unusual light can frighten or disorientate a penguin.
• Guests that require a wheelchair are welcome on our tours providing they are accompanied by an able-bodied companion and do not require special assistance from the supplier to embark and disembark the vehicle. Wheelchairs will be stored under the vehicle whilst in transit. If travelling with a wheelchair, you must contact the supplier at least 72hrs prior to departure to ensure your wheelchair can be accommodated. no access to upgrades to Guided Ranger or Skybox at Phillip Island Nature Parks, Penguins Underground is the recommended upgrade.
• Children under 16 are not permitted on skybox tour
• Children under 12 are not permitted on the Ranger Guided Tour
• If travelling with an infant that requires a stroller, you must contact the supplier at least 72hrs prior to departure to ensure the can be accommodated.

I'm a penguin fanatic and these little guys did not disappoint. It was wet and rainy, but it didn't dampen my thrill to see these guys. Worth the bus ride from Melbourne. Very picturesque.”

Seeing the penquins was amazing! We paid a little more to view them from the platform.- definitely worth it! Although, I can't speak for the other's experiences If you can, try sitting on the right side near the path for the best view. But, if you can't, you will still see them waddle down the path. After they have made it past the platform, they will continue up and through the bush so you can actually see them from the walkway too. Great experience!”

Love it! Those little creatures are just so great and funny. Without tour wouldn't be able to see them, and would have missed something. Take a lot of warm clothes with you, since to get a best place to see, you have to be there early, and it you might get cold. Once again tour quide Mark was good, and learned a lot about Phillip Island in a bus on our way there. Keep your eyes open, and you will see lots of wallabies on the way.”

We highly recommend this tour and especially the penguin viewing plus experience. The tour itself was arranged by Aatkings, and I must say booking viator has given very considerable discounts as against direct booking with AAtking tours. Viewing penguin at their natural habitat after they return from their long day hunt to shore is magical experience. Added highlight is AAtking bus driver he was totally funny throughout the tour! 5 Star for this Tour!”

Our driver/guide did a superb job of preparing us for seeing the penguins. We knew exactly what to expect and felt we really understood what we were seeing. We paid extra for the PLUS experience because it put us much closer to the little critters. It was definitely worth the small added cost because we were as close to them as could be without actually touching them which is forbidden and is photo taking. If you want o overdose on CUTE, this trip is a must.”

This was a wonderful tour! I will tell you up front it is a long evening but, well worth it. Our Driver, Roger was very knowledgeable about all things Melbourne, he shared this with the tour group all the way out to Phillip Island. I learned so much on this tour, from history of Australia to housing costs. We even arrived early and were able to see Wallabies in their environment! This was a surprise to all of us on the tour. The tiny fairy Penguins were our reason for the tour. It is a bit of a waiting game as you sit near the shore on benches we bought the preferred seating. Well worth it! waiting for the Penguins to come out of the water and then make the long track back to their homes on the hill. THERE ARE NO CAMERAS ALLOWED, NO PHONES EITHER. The flash scares the Penguins so please be ware and dont even try it, they have very good security. You can get pics off the website. Dress warmly, take coats, scarves and gloves with you. Enjoy!”

An excellent evening of watching penguins. If you choose the evening option, eat first or bring snack because you get back to Melbourne at midnight after the 2.5 hour drive back. Viewing platform was best option for seeing penguins walk by. Adriene, our driver/guide was most informative!”

We had a great experience. The bus driver was great and gave us a comprehensive over view of what we were seeing or going to see. We had terrific seats to watch the penguins. All in all we had a wonderful time. We will definitely use viatour again.”

Excellent trip, and it's worth paying extra for the premium seating at the beach. Make sure to get to the beach at least 45 minutes before dusk to assure a good seat to watch the penguins come out of the ocean although you can see them up close and personal as they walk alongside the boardwalk behind the seats. Surprisingly good food at the cafe. And yes, no photos allowed I was chided by a ranger for taking a picture of the beach even before the penguins arrived! Since our tour was in January meaning a late sunset, the penguins didn't come out until after 9 PM, so we didn't get back to our hotel until after midnight it didn't help that there was road construction going on during our return trip to Melbourne.”

A fantastic trip. Our coach driver Gary gave a really informative commentary and as we arrived earlier than expected at Phillip Island he gave us an extra tour. The Penguin Parade itself was amazing - nature at its best. One tip make sure you take warm clothing as it gets chilly when the Parade takes place”

Quite a long drive but well worth the visit. The penguins were adorable and there were so many of them. It was really worth upgrading to the viewing area where numbers were limited. A thrilling experience.”

It gets really cold especially during the year-end I think! so bring your own shawls and sweaters or you'll have to buy one from the souvenir shop like most of us did. Also, there's only one small cafe here where everyone tries to find a seat and get a meal before the 9pm viewing time if you're coming by tour bus like most of us did, they will most likely pick you up from town at 3pm for the long bus ride to Phillip Island, after which you have to get a quick meal in before the viewing as you'll be sent back to town/your hotel only by midnight!. Tip: you can try packing your own food and warm drink in a thermos flask if you don't want to queue, snatch a table and gobble down your meal. The actual viewing session is beautiful. I'd suggest like most people on this site did to top up your ticket for a premium seat as that is where the penguins start surfacing magically around 9pm and then you can see them almost at your feet waddling about and looking lost. A wonderful eye-opening experience: it was as much a viewing experience for the penguins who were looking at us as it was a viewing experience for us hoomans.”

Excellent tour, a must for the tourist visiting Melbourne. We opted for the evening tour as we had already done other parts of the day tour on offer, and only wanted to see the penguin parade. View from the general gallery is as good as the special observation deck unless you want see more numbers of penguins in long lines. In any case after watching them on the beach, you get a much better, up close and personal look at the penguins while moving back to the exit. So keep some time for that too!”

This trip was absolutely wonderful. Our tour guide was very friendly, knowledgeable ,the bus was comfrotable and we were picked up from the hotel on time. Me and my wife absolutely enjoyed. The journey from Melbourne to Phillip Island Penguin took around 2 hours with amazing natural view, such as, Seal and small towns. We arrived around 7 pm and waited 1 hour. There were already so many people in the viewing there penguin and the weather there is always coldits better to take warm jacket. In addition, in Penguin Parade has a strict rules no photography because of Penguin has sensitive eyes and any bright flash from camera or phones can frighten them. It definitely worth to visit and great value for money.”

Fantastic trip. Steve was a great driver, great sense of humour. Due to the crowds of people viewing the penguins, he advised that we be seated on the viewing platform at 2000-2015. Penguins arrived at 2115. There was enough time for everything and seeing the penguins arrive on the beach and return to their homes was a memorable experience. If you have a child don't bring a pram/stroller - there is no where to put it while you are viewing the penguins.”

Best experience. Tour was well coordinated. Joe, our tour guide and driver was very helpful in providing all the background information, best place to view the penguins. Highly recommend for families with kids. They will enjoy those little beauties as they parade from the ocean”
