The tour was fantastic - our group were all like minded and we got along very well! For the majority of us, it was a first time visit to China, so was great to experience everything together for the first time! All the hotels were in very good locations, were clean & comfortable, and the included breakfasts always had a wide variety of both western & Asian meal options. The coaches used in each city were clean and comfortable and offered plenty of space for our group of 20.Our guide Stefanie was truly amazing and she really made the trip all the more memorable!! She explained everything clearly and concisely, was always available to offer assistance and guidance on anything that was needed. This was a thoroughly enjoyable trip and one that I will remember for a long time! Thank you for an amazing experience! ”

There were two guides Feng for Beijing and Torgee for Tibet, both were very knowledgeable and friendly. My wife and I are in our mid seventies and consider ourselves pretty fit. The tour is an "On the go tour" and we found that to be the case, never a dull moment and quite physical with a lot of walking, which we were able to cope with, maybe better than some of the younger members of the group. When we arrived in Tibet, Lhasa we were not prepared for the altitude, we had been told but did not realise how debilitating it would be. A well run tour with lots of exciting things to see and do. Thank you”

The guide Sabrena was very knowledgable, thoughtful and caring for the whole trip.

A very genuine person, could not have had a better guide! And the Drivers and van excellent. I was surprised to have such good accommodation no complaints there.

Too many gardens to visit, although beautiful but instead would have preferred to have visited the best historical museum in Beijing to help understand the depth & richness of Chinese culture. I'm sure our friendly savvy group who were all well over 30yrs (we all gelled as a group and eight perfect number sure they would have appreciated it too! And a modern art Gallery say in Shanghai. These two things would give more depth to the tour. (Not the traditional art which everyone knows in west so well). Acrobatic performance was brilliant.

Benny the guide in Xian was good and fun too. He obviously loves his city. I loved the bike ride around the city wall best way to view the it. Ramps and all. Amazing markets there.

The whole tour for me was so enjoyable, China"s exciting, vibrant and spectacular sites The Great Wall (so good to have two days walking it.) Terracotta (Bike ride, the cruises, towers...all good) So glad to have travelled by trains than go through domestic airports!

Longman Caves( here would have been good to have connected us with the little ferries that plied the river we tried but language a barrier would have been a highlight of our stay there viewing the caves sailing along instead we walked.

Shanghai"s Cruise was stunning, loved it the best and great way to finish our tour, especially and special thanks to Megan our FlightCentre agent in Adelaide for working so hard to arrange the best, for our trip, very thorough and helpful a job well done.”

Xi'an - city walls and clay armies

View on map
Terracotta Warriors | Xi'an | China

City Walls are very common in China and the one in Xi’an is particularly special as you have the opportunity to cycle, run, walk, ride around the whole thing with impressive views of the city below. A short distance from the city you'll also find one of China's most famous sites - the Terracotta Warriors. Incredibly these 8,000 or so soldiers are all unique with no one face being the same as any other.

Shanghai - city of contrasts

Shanghai by night | China

Perched on China’s east coast, Shanghai is home to lots of futuristic skyscrapers, the historic and decadent Bund area as well as over 100 public parks. For the best views of the city head up the Oriental Pearl tower or take a relaxing cruise along the Huangpu River. Shopaholics can get their fix on Nanjing Road and nothing tastes like Shanghai than a bellyful of traditional dumplings.

Beijing - the captivating capital

Formerly Peking, Beijing is without doubt the epicentre of China’s politics, economy and culture. From historical Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City to the traditional Hutongs and modern Olympic Park, Beijing is definitely a place that deserves plenty of attention. It's also the best place to try delicious Peking Duck and makes a great base for visiting the Great Wall of China.

Gaint pandas | China

Home to the nation’s favourite mascot, the giant panda, Chengdu is one of the best places to see these beautiful bears at the Giant Panda Breeding Centre. The city is the capital of the Sichuan Province, which means lots of delicious, spicy food. You can also enjoy a leisurely stroll around Jinli Street at night or visit the impressive Giant Buddha of Le Shan just a couple of hours outside the city.

The Dragon's Backbone | Longsheng | China

Famed for its impressive rice terraces, Longsheng is a wonderful respite from the hustle and bustle of many of China’s main cities. One of the most famous being Longji (Dragon’s Backbone) which when full of water (usually in Spring) resembles that of the scaly back of a dragon.
