“
Very nice, safe aerial tour. The tour guides were amazing, regaling us with loads of history and geography of the place. They also offered me the choice of the zip line instead, since I was traveling with elderly parents. Thanks.”

“
This tour was unbelievable. Seeing leaves as large as schoolbuses from a Bob was quite amazing. We also saw many wild animals including vipers sloths”

This tour was pretty great! It is a bit of a trip from San Jose, but the small bus was very air conditioned and roomy, and the guide and driver were both great and entertaining.
There's a lot of different tours at this particular location, so make sure you look around to find the right one for you. This particular tour includes the trip, a nice nature walk, lunch, and the tram tour. There are others that include things like zip lining, etc. if that's your sort of thing, too, and you'll be grouped with other people for the trip and then separated there based on what you've booked.
The nature walk was pretty cool, and informative, and our guide very knowledgeable. Do not go in expecting to see a ton of wildlife - you'll see lots of plants and insects, but most likely won't see much in the way of animals keep in mind those tv shows shoot for weeks or months to get all the things they want to show.
After the walk we went to lunch which is sort of buffet style and included chicken, rice, beans and some sides. It wasn't magnificent, but it was filling and tasty enough.
The tram tour itself was pretty cool! They each seat a max of six people, we just had four plus our guide, and it was nice to give us a little extra room. On the way 'up' it goes right along the rain forest floor and you can see all sorts of small streams, insects, trees, etc. and on the way back it comes down along the canopy where you have an entirely different view of the rainforest and you can see how they differ.
Overall I definitely recommend the tour if you're looking for a day spent away from San Jose, exploring the rain forest, and are not looking at doing any huge hikes or anything. The nature walk was very easy and not demanding at all.”

An outstanding tour. It included two nature walks, lunch, the aerial tram, and butterfly garden. Our tour guide, Fabian was very knowledgable and accommodating. A must do in all respects!”

“
We enjoyed it. We didn't see a ton of wildlife, but that may have been due to the time of year. Guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Lunch was fantastic.”

Thie tram provided a very interesting and different opportunity in viewing the rainforest. One way on the ride is over the canopy, the other is about half height. Would love to do this at night but don't think it is offered. Our guide, Cel, was great on the walk eapecially. He found things in the Forrest for us to see that we never would have known were there without his being able to point them out to us. Our driver, Eric was very timely and offered lots of interesting information along the way. Really enjoyed this excursion.”

We expected it to be very touristy, but it was informative. We were very impressed with our guide, Jose, and his knowledge of the ecosystem. Breathtaking views from the canopy are not to be missed! We highly recommend this trip if you are in the San Jose area.”

“
The pickup time turned out to be an hour later than posted, which was a minor irritation. However, the tour was very good. Our group of four loved it.”

“
The entire trip was outstanding and enhanced by our guide on the bus and tram. However, the bus was stopped by the police on the return trip for not being properly authorized as a tourist vehicle, which caused a delay, meaning we had to deal with rush hour trafic in San Jose. The bus should have been properly licensed by the operator!”

“
The tour was very nice, but the transportation was not managed very well. The pick up went well a little after 10 am and we picked up at4 more hotels and off to the park. We had a nice lunch and the went on the tram, which was very nice and our guide Leo was very informative. We had a downpour when we started the nature walk, but it didn't last long. This was very informative too.
We left the part about 4:30 and got to the first hotel about 5:30. The San Jose traffic at this time of day is absolutely nuts so it took another 90 minutes to get to our hotel. I know that Viator can't do anything about the traffic and the closed road nobody seemed to know about, but I would think that they could manage the timing better to avoid the high traffic times.”

Really good value overall. All staff were very helpful and friendly. The preserve was a very interesting place and a good way to start off our 2-week Costa Rican trek. Out of our 2 weeks traveling coast to coast this was the only place we saw Tapirs.”
