Hola San Jose! Upon arrival at San Jose Airport you will be met by our local rep and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore Costa Rica's cosmopolitan capital city, which is nestled in a fertile valley among coffee and sugar-cane farms.
This morning we travel to the sleepy rural town of La Fortuna. The main attraction in La Fortuna is Arenal Volcano, which is close to the town and has been constantly erupting since 1968. Enjoy time at leisure this afternoon exploring the town. In the evening enjoy a visit to the luxurious hot springs of Tabacon and enjoy a delicious dinner.
Today is free for you to relax or partake in a variety of exciting optional excursions from caving or white water rafting to canoeing, horse-riding or trekking in search of the local wildlife and beautiful waterfalls.
Today we travel up into the mountains to the beautiful village of Monteverde, the gateway to Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve with its unique canopy of cloud. During our visit to the reserve we will go in search of the endangered Quetzal, a bird with incredibly beautiful and unique plumage, and visit the Hummingbird Gallery where these energetic birds buzz around sipping on nectar. The reserve has excellent trails for walking and hiking, one of which takes you to the continental divide.
There are lots of optional activities on offer in and around Monteverde and Santa Elena to keep you entertained today, like sky walks on suspension bridges above the forest canopy, hummingbird and butterfly gardens and twilight walks.
Leaving the lofty heights of Monteverde behind we travel south through lush green countryside to Manuel Antonio on the Pacific Coast, which is famous for its stunning beaches and rainforest. Visit Manuel Antonio National Park, one of the most popular parks in the country blessed with beautiful lagoons, palm fringed beaches and a plethora of animals including sloths, pelicans, white-faced monkeys, anteaters and huge iguanas. Enjoy time at leisure exploring the park and relaxing on the beach.

Today we head back to San Jose. This evening why not sample some of the city's world class restaurants and its lively nightlife as an optional activity!
Today we travel by bus to the dock of Caño Blanco, where we board a boat that takes us along inland jungle canals and into Tortuguero National Park, located on the Atlantic/Caribbean coast. This popular national park, which incorporates canals, rivers, beaches and lakes is literally teaming with wildlife and famous for its turtles. Not only is it an important nesting site for the green turtle (from July to October), it is also home to leatherbacks and hawkbills.
Enjoy a boat visit to Tortuguero National Park to spot a large variety of animals, ranging from monkeys, sloths and crocodiles to turtles and numerous bird species.
From one national park to another, leaving Tortuguero we travel to Cahuita, a breathtaking national park on the Caribbean coast with beautiful palm fringed white sand beaches and incredible off-shore coral reef. The town of Cahuita itself has an impressive selection of restaurants, where you may sample some fruits of the sea and listen to reggae music.
Visit the beautiful Cahuita National Park and enjoy free time at the beach.
We travel back to San Jose and spend our final night in the capital.
