Hola San Jose! Upon arrival at San Jose Airport, you will see our driver waiting to take you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore Costa Rica's cosmopolitan capital city, which is nestled in a fertile valley among coffee and sugar-cane farms.
Today we travel by public bus to the port of Moin near Limón, where we assist you to board a boat which takes us along inland jungle canals and into Tortuguero National Park. (OVERNIGHT AT THE Mawamba Lodge)
Enjoy free time to do the activities on offer at the hotel. This popular national park which incorporates canals, rivers, beaches and lakes is literally teaming with wildlife and famous for its turtles. Not only is it an important nesting site for the green turtle (from July to October), it is also home to leatherbacks and hawkbills. During our two night stay here we are sure to spot a large variety of animals, ranging from monkeys, sloths and crocodiles to turtles and numerous bird species. (OVERNIGHT AT THE Mawamba Lodge)
From one national park to another, leaving Tortuguero we travel to Cahuita, a breathtaking national park on the Caribbean coast, with beautiful palm fringed white sand beaches and incredible off-shore coral reef. Go for a snorkel or take a glass-bottomed boat to discover Cahuita's incredible marine life, wander through the forest to spot the resident wildlife or soak up the sunshine on the beach, the choice is yours!
