Important InfoInfo
Kotor is surrounded by lofty mountains which peer over its Bay of Kotor, Europe's southernmost fjord. As the Mediterranean's only fjord, this bay was added to the list of the twenty five most beautiful bays in July 2000.

You will be picked from your hotel (or pick up point) in Dubrovnik and then enjoy the tour in a new Mercedes, air-conditioned minibus with an English/Spanish speaking guide. Once you arrive at the Croatian-Montenegro border, you will need to be sure you have your passport with you.

Once you cross the border, enjoy a panoramic drive around the Bay of Kotor. Boka Kotorska will fascinate you. It looks as if the mountains have cracked and let the sea in. This is the southernmost fjord in Europe. The bay is all natural. Admire its beautiful small towns as treasuries of history, art, and beauty, that are strung like pearls on its coastline.

Your next stop is Perast, the ancient village. It is rich in Venice-like architecture which includes sixteen Baroque palaces, seventeen Catholic churches, several important Orthodox structures, and a series of nine defensive towers. The highlights are twin islands of St George and Our Lady of the Rocks. Both are religious pilgrimage sites. This tour includes a boat ride to Our Lady of the Rocks, which was artificially created in the 15th century around a rock where an image of the Madonna was found. Every year on July 22, the locals row over with stones to continue the task.

You will arrive in Kotor around noon. Kotor is located in a dramatic and secluded Mediterranean Bay (at the head of southern Europe's deepest fjord), and it is one of Montenegro's most picturesque cities. For centuries, it has been a crossroads of commercial roads under the strong influence of Venice. It is protected by mountains with a strong defense structure built during the time of Byzantine Empire. You can start wandering through Stari Grad (Old Town) and exploring its cobbled lane ways and atmospheric squares. Visit St. Tryphon Cathedral. The Old Town is included in UNESCO Natural and Cultural list. You will have 2 hours free time to experience the allure of this beautiful town.

Thus was a really great day. The scenery was incredible. As a photographer I kept wanting to say Stop! Perast is beautiful and a little more time there would be lovely. Our Lady's island was crowded and I didn't get inside (I was happy taking photos of the stutting landscapes though!) I would love to see Kotor less crowded but there were 2 cruise ships in port. I saw this as a taster and I'll be back! Great guides.

A day trip from Dubrovnik.A straight forward drive and not much of a delay at customs both ways. Beautiful scenery en-route.The bay of Kotor is stunning with a must visit to Lady of the Rock. A full day is required to see the sights in Kotor.

I loved my day trip to Montenegro. This tiny country with only 600,000 people are a powerhouse. They have also managed to make its official currency the Euro and it's not in the EU. I learnt a lot about the history of Montenegro from our Tour Guides, one from Croatia and a local lady from Montenegro. They were both super informative, friendly and professional. Our driver was excellent too. He took a short cut, so we went to the new immigration and it was extremely quick. Everything was perfect about this tour and I fully recommend it.

We had a lovely experience full of history and new knowledge. Our guide Tiana and driver were excellent. It was very well organised. We totally recommend it.

We took this day trip a couple of weeks ago; our guide was Teanna. While the views were excellent, and the bus and boat facilities were very good, Teanna made this one of the best trips I have taken through Viator. She was knowledgeable, funny and entertaining, knowing exactly how much to share with us; not speaking too much or too little. If you're visiting Dubrovnik for a few days, this is a must-do!

This was a very enjoyable tour from Dubrovnik to Kotor Bay in Montenegro. It's about a 2 and a half hour trip on the mini bus. The journey is scenic and Kotor bay is beautiful. Kotor itself is also lovely. It is within city walls and is not too big, so quite easy to walk around and do the main sites. If you walk the walls though it is quite hilly! We didn't do this as we felt time was too tight. Our guide gave us a map of Kotor and this was easily navigable. However, a local guide would have been useful to provide information and find our way around a bit easier.

A great tour. Pick-up was smooth and on time. Crossing the borders took less than 30 min in the morning, and 20 min on the return journey. Guide was knowledgeable and nice. Mini Bus was comfortable even with a full bus of 20 people. Really enjoyed the boat ride to Lady of the Rock and then on to Kotor. Right amount of time allocated to Kotor to walk up to the church on the hill and then get lunch. Enjoyed a quick swim in Pearst. Note this tour DOES NOT go to Budva - some people on my tour had been told by their travel agent it did and were therefore disappointed.

Awesome trip. Stunning country, cute little towns, great knowledgable local guide and perfectly organised timings. This is a must!

Agata, the tour guide was excellent. Knowledgeable and very organised so kept the group together and border crossings very smooth. Well paced tour in general. Perhaps less time in Kotor and more time in Budva might be better but this was a minor issue. Would definitely recommend this tour.

I travel often 9-10 times a year, and I am always a bit leary of organized day trips. I don't like being herded from place to place in large groups, and I often feel like the bus trips take away from the overall experience. However, I decided to take a chance on this one since it was a small group and I was unsure about crossing the border on our own. We had a great day out! Montenegro is absolutely beautiful! The pictures do not even do it justice. I would've loved more time in Kotor as we found ourselves rushing a bit. Budva was just ok, but we had a wonderful and inexpensive lunch there at a place recommended by our guide. The border crossings took a really long time, Almost 2 hours to get back into Croatia so be prepared for that, but our guide was so thoughtful and had extra water and snacks on hand while we waited. Even though the mini bus was air conditioned, the back could get really hot at times. I am glad we did this trip, and would recommend it for others who want to see Montenegro without driving!

Lady of the Rock is beyond amazing. Tour was efficient and border crossing well managed.

Our guide Silvia was fantastic and all three stops were well worth the trip, although I would say that if you have time and the money, renting a car and spending a little longer in each place would be best. If, like us, you can't rent a car and have little time, definitely book! Absolutely stunning!

Very good tour, very well organized. Best part of the tour was visiting the Our Lady of the Rock with the boat. Very beautiful bay, it was really worth to visit it.

Fantastic day trip! We loved how much time was devoted to Kotor as we had plenty of time to explore Old Town and hike to the top of the fort. Our guide, Ivanna, was great and even gave us an extra 30 minutes in Kotor to make sure we had the time to see everything we wanted to. We had no interest in going to Budva and had a hard time finding an itinerary without it, so this trip was perfect for us. Would highly recommend.

Really beautiful trip to Perast and Kotor. Our guide was really competent and nice. She explained very clearly and answered nicely to all our questions. The minibus was on time at the pick-up point at our hotel. The minibus is also very confortable and it is really a big advantage to be in a smaller bus maximum 18 persons. Doing the tour without going to Budva allow to spend more time in Kotor.

The 2 cities we visited were stunning and the boat ride to the island is something you definitely need to do. The tour guide was nothing special though and i was a little bummed that in Kotor city there was no group tour explaining the area. She just left us and told us to meet back at the bus...I was expecting a walking tour :( But overall everything went smoothly and we were very happy.

What an interesting and beautiful place this was! Very charming. We found it fascinating to think about what it would have been like to live here back in the hey days of this area. Also, our host was excellent -- informative and kind. The board ride to Lady of the Rock was a nice excursion as well. Be aware that it can sometimes take HOURS to cross the border while on the bus from Croatia into Montenegro. This is no fault, of course, of the tour company. but just be prepared for that possibility.

We wanted to see Kotor and in particular to do the boat trip to Lady of the Rock. Both these were excellent and we would have preferred to have more time at these places. Also included was a visit to Budva which was not so worthwhile, the resort has a small old town but is basically a beach resort with not a lot to see. We would have preferred to spend more time in Perast as the boat trip to the Lady of the Rock took up the whole of the time for this stop. The trip was well organised although the microphone system on the bus couldn't be heard at the back this mean't information was not available to anyone not sitting at the front. Overall we enjoyed the trip and it was well worth doing and border crossings were swifter than expected.
