Itinerary

Day 1

Cairo

Tuesday. Welcome to Egypt and the start of your holiday! Arrive Cairo, included airport arrival transfer to hotel and overnight.
Overnight: Cairo

Day 2

Pyramids of Giza & Saqqara

Cairo - Luxor. Today a visit to the incredible pyramids and huge Sphinx at Giza Plateau. It’s estimated the largest - Khufu (Cheops) was constructed from no less than 2.5 million quarried limestone blocks, weighing around 6 million tonnes. No mean feat, when you consider the pyramids were built without the use of modern equipment! Maybe opt for a camel ride. Travelling on to the necropolis of Saqqara, innumerable sand strewn temples and tombs await discovery. It’s at Saqqara where you’ll see Zhoser’s step pyramid. Rising 6 steps, it served as the prototype for ancient Egypt’s most enduring architectural legacy. This evening we travel by overnight sleeper train to Luxor.
Overnight: Sleeper Train  |  Breakfast

Day 3

Luxor

This morning we arrive into Luxor and check into our hotel. One of the world’s greatest open-air museums, the 4000 year old site of ancient Thebes - known today as Luxor is our base for two exciting days of exploration. Enjoy some rest and relaxation. Tonight, there is an optional visit to Temple of Luxor. The temple is magically illuminated by a thousand coloured lights at night fall, book and pay locally. Remainder of the evening at leisure with a chance to enjoy the facilities of our hotel.
Overnight: Luxor  |  Breakfast

Day 4

Valley of the Kings

Luxor - Cairo. Take flight over ancient Luxor with an optional hot air balloon ride early this morning before we cross to the West Bank of the Nile. The massive pair of statues known as the Colossi of Memnon are the first monuments we’ll see as we start our day's sightseeing. They are all that remains of the temple of Amenophis III. Today, we visit the Valleys of the Kings and the imposing colonnaded temple of Queen Hatshepsut.

Returning to our hotel, we enjoy free time before visiting Karnak. More than a temple, Karnak is a spectacular complex of sanctuaries, pylons and obelisks - built on a grand scale. During the height of Theban power, Karnak was the most important place of worship. Tonight, we return to Cairo by overnight sleeper train.
Overnight: Sleeper Train  |  Breakfast

Day 5

Egyptian Museum

Arrive to Cairo and hotel check-in. Later, a guided visit to the Egyptian Museum. See the famous King Tutankhamun solid gold death mask or opt to see the Royal Mummy room. Remainder of the afternoon and evening is free to do your own thing.
Overnight: Cairo  |  Breakfast

Day 6

Cairo

Sunday. Our tour ends after breakfast and included onward departure transfer to the airport.
Breakfast

Visit El Alamein

El Alamein Bolt-On Located on the Mediterranean coast, just 4 hours north of Cairo, lies El Alamein, where two extended battles were fought during World War II. Some 13,000 Allied soldiers were killed and 70,000 were wounded in the battle. Come and pay your respects at the Commonwealth War Cemetery and visit the local war museum.

What an amazing tour! Just wanted to take a second to thank On The Go for such an amazing trip. I really did not know what to expect from Egypt other than the pyramids, but have been awakened to so much more. Sincerely thank you for this opportunity !

I also wanted to give some feedback for our tour guide Hytham Youssry. I can say in all honesty that Hyatham is the best tour guide that I have had on a trip yet and I have quite a few tours under my belt with some really great tour leaders. To say that Hytham was attentive would be a gross understatement and to say that Hytham was predictive and responsive when needed would be an understatement, to say that he was knowledgeable, well liked, informative, and sociable would be an understatement. This guy is the real deal!

Hytham from the very start did something that all tour leaders should do but rarely do, which is to provide information on what we should be paying for stuff and how to go about with our negotiations or deal with aggressive vendors. This information is extremely valuable and demonstrates an understanding of what skills and knowledge people will require on their trip. If anyone on this trip needed something then Hytham had a guy that could get it. His recommendations on which optional excursions to do, what to see, and where to eat were always right on and everyone in that group after 2 days had complete trust in him.

THIS is how good he is: One of the girls realized that she had lost her phone at a site that we had left in Aswan and were half way back to our hotel. Hytham jumped on the phone and started calling every tour guide he knew to see if there was anyone that was still there that could take a look. After about 20 minutes of calling friends and friends of friends he found someone that was there and miraculously found the phone half buried in the sand. The girl had already accepted that her phone was gone and she would never get it back, once it was heard that he had found it the whole bus erupted in a cheer and a legend was born! Somehow Hytham had coordinated it and had it brought back to Aswan and minutes before we sailed on the Felucca Hytham and I rode the support boat upriver to meet his friend and collect the phone. The guest got her phone back and Hytham was a hero from then on. I cannot give this guy enough credit and everyone in that group feels the same way!

Please be sure to let Hytham know that he has done an amazing job, I have no doubt in my mind that he gets this praise all the time but let him know from me that he really enhanced this trip beyond my expectations.

Thank you!

Hello On the Go Tours! My friend and I just got back from our 1st Tour with On the Go and I just had to write to you all to tell you about the AMAZING time that we had in Egypt. On the Go Tours is lucky to have such incredible staff members in Egypt. We were on the Pharaoh’s Adventure Tour from October 3-9th, 2017. For the 1st day of our Tour in Cairo we were a part of a smaller 3 person tour with a really nice Tour Guide called Waleed Zayan. Waleed was very knowledgeable and personable and he did an amazing job showing us the Pyramids in Cairo. He speaks about Egypt and its history with great passion and takes his time to ensure that he thoroughly answers any and all questions. He was the perfect Tour Guide and became a good and kind friend of ours. After our Tour with Waleed we travelled to Luxor and joined another group led by a Tour Guide called Alam El Dein. Alam was the perfect tour guide, he had extensive knowledge about Egypt and provided detailed and informative information about the places we visited, but he was also extremely kind and patient and fun. He is very hardworking and goes above and beyond his duties as a Tour Guide. As you can tell from my feedback, I had an amazing time in Egypt, I have travelled to many different countries, but this was the best trip of my life. Egypt itself, it is the most incredible place on earth and its people are simply the kindest people that I have ever met and On the Go Tours and all of its amazing staff, in particular Waleed Zayan and Alam El Dein made this trip extraordinarily amazing. Also a special thanks to Mido who took care of us from the beginning to end of our tour, he was amazing and took really good care of us all. I look forward to sharing my amazing experience amongst all of my family and friends and to booking tours in the near future with your company.

Had a great time on this tour! Mahmoud was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and gave great insights into the amazing landmarks we visited. The only negative comment I had was regarding all the stops at the local shops. Personally I would have preferred more time at the sights, but I suppose there are a variety of reasons for taking the tour group shopping. Still, had a wonderful time and loved meeting the other adventurous travelers. I'd definitely recommend On The Go, this tour in particular, and Mahmoud for a tour guide.

Hello. My friend and I were recently on an On The Go tour of Egypt from Sept 2016. We did the Pharaoh's Tour of Cairo and Luxor and had a wonderful time. I would like to recognize the excellence of your tour guide Waleed Zayam. He has an incredible knowledge base on Egypt and its ancient history and was able to give detailed answers to any questions we might ask him. And we asked him a lot! He is very warm, personable, and funny and really made our trip great. He is the best of the best! Also, Abdallah, our Cairo coordinator, made sure that everything ran smoothly and that we were all taken care of. I'd like to commend you on having such an excellent staff, and I would appreciate if you could forward this to the supervisors in charge of the Egypt program. I will definitely look to On The Go when planning my next vacation. Thank you for a wonderful trip!

Sincerely, Diane Kody

I had a fantastic time on this tour. I learnt so much and have taken away a better understanding of the local culture. I have wanted to see the pyramids for a long time and this far exceeded my expectations. Everything felt well planned - from the initial pickup at the airport to the overnight train journeys and the lovely hotels. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and personable - I will certainly be booking another tour with On the Go Tours.

This was a great tour. From the moment I stepped foot in Egypt I felt very safe and well taken care of. The representative was just outside the gate waiting for me and assisted me with the visa process and immigration. The sites were spectacular and our guides where so knowledgeable it was impressive.

There are no words for how much we were taken back by the whole experience. From landing in Cairo on day 1 to being dropped off at the airport on day 6 we felt that we were taken care of the entire time. Both guides were great. So informational I wish I could retain half of the history they taught. The beauty of all the temples and pyramids were more than I imagined. In the end, we couldn't have been happier with the On The Go experience. The sights were more than we imagined. Emile, MoMo, and Walid were great and have nothing negative to say. We plan to use On The Go for our future adventures.

The tour through Egypt was fantastic. We enjoyed every moment of it and the hotels were wonderful. Waleed our Tour Guide has a wide knowledge of the history of Egypt and is as a Tour Guide, an asset to any Tour Agency Company. Waleed's pleasant personality together with his knowledge of the country made it one of the most unforgettable holidays we have had in a very long time. We like to thank On The Go Tours for their excellent organization of the tour but most of all their Tour Guide Waleed Zayan who introduced us to the culture, the history and the feeling of the country and the people of Egypt. Emil our representative made us feel comfortable as far as the tour arrangements were concerned and was always available to ensure that all was well.
