Aswan - Nile felucca cruise. Early birds can go on an optional excursion to the majestic Temple of Abu Simbel. The gargantuan rock-cut temple at Abu Simbel was created to revere the mighty pharaonic ruler King Ramses II. Guarding the entrance to the temple, the four colossal statues of Ramses II sit majestically, staring out across the desert. In the afternoon we board a felucca for a 2-night journey downstream the River Nile, stopping at villages and islands along the way.

If sailing by felucca is not your style, navigate the River Nile on board a 5 star Nile Cruiser with private cabin and ensuite bathroom. See our Nile Cruise Upgrade for more info.

Hurghada is one of the Red Sea's most popular resorts and it is easy to see why. Hotels and expanded infrastructure provide holidaymakers with excellent aquatic facilities for sail boarding, yachting, deep-sea fishing, SCUBA diving and snorkeling. Hurghada’s central location provides a gateway to prime offshore reefs, which are some of the finest in the world. Hurghada also has plenty of restaurants and late night bars for evening entertainment. Just outside Hurghada is an ancient Roman quarry called Mons Porphyritis and Port Safarga – a famously windy place which is ideal for windsurfing.

Good morning,

I have recently had the very lucky opportunity to spend 12 days in the company of one of (what I can only assume to be) one of your top Egypt guides. I was utterly impressed by the professionalism, expertise, willingness to go the extra mile, and lovely caring nature of Mahmoud Ramadan. As marketing and tourism Professional and academic I am highly critical... but despite this ... Mahmoud impressed and made our trip a great experience and a real delight. He deserves to be recognized by us as exceptionally talented and committed to add value to his clients and On The Go.

This was my first tour and I was extremely impressed.

Egypt was a revelation. I was at times overwhelmed by the history and grandeur of the landmarks. The people were warm and welcoming everywhere we went. Our guide, Momo (Mohamed Saiid) was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. He really took an already amazing tour to the next level.

The King Ramses tour encompassed everything I had dreamed of seeing including the Pyramids, Abu Simbel, and the Valley of the Kings as well as a side of Egypt that most people never get to enjoy. Floating down the Nile on the felucca and swimming in the Red Sea were truly once in a lifetime experiences.

I look forward to travelling with On the Go on future holidays.

My wife and I recently returned from a trip to Egypt with On the Go Tours. Egypt is a place that we both really wanted to visit because of its amazing history, but we were a bit concerned about travelling around the country on our own and that is why we chose to go on a tour. The trip was well organised from picking us up at the airport, advising of times and places to meet in advance, explaining local customs and ways and what to expect as we went from place to place.

What made the tour for us was our guide, Dino. Dino was brilliant. From the outset at our pre tour meeting he carefully explained what, when and how we would be doing. He explained local customs and cultural differences we should be aware of. As we approached each site he would advise us what to look out for and take care to avoid. When we had some minor problems (unrelated to tour organisation) Dino would be there to help resolve the issue. Dino's knowledge of Egyptian history was incredible. At every site we visited he would give us its history and relate it to other sites that we had already visited or were about to visit. There was no question he could not answer. Dino's sense of humour was great and he needed it with a bunch of Aussies, a Kiwi and an Englishman in the group! We couldn't thank Dino enough at the end of the trip and we certainly came away with an enhanced education in Egyptian history. Thanks again Dino.

Regards

Thomas Clark (Russell)

Absolutely amazing tour led by efficient, knowledgeable and approachable guide Dino. Nothing was a problem to him, group adored him.

Need more time at the museum of Cairo - this was rushed and stressful and such value in this exhibition

In hurghada would be better to snorkel the reef than the island on day tour

Oasis hotel (first nights) were not at all friendly or accommodating but this improved as the tour went on

Cruise on the Alyssa was incredible

Other than this minimal constructive feedback the tour was faultless and I say thankyou again to Dino and Ahmed for ensuring our safety and genuine enjoyment of your country

This tour of Egypt exceeded my high expectations. I love the travel style of On the Go.

Before we went to Egypt, people expressed concern about our safety and we felt completely safe and cared for the whole trip. From the greeting when we arrived in Cairo and had someone to assist us through the arrival process to the guide taking us as far as security would let him go on our departure, the service was exceptional.

It's tough to capture the feeling of exploring a civilization that has a history spanning back thousands of years . . . walking down into one of the pyramids (the only remaining of the original 7 Wonders of the World), standing at the base of one of the massive King Ramesses II carvings at Abu Simbel, exploring ancient temples and tombs. For me the thing that always touches my heart most about travel is the people I meet and the ones I share the journey with. Floating down the Nile on a felucca, swimming in the red sea and hanging out in coffee shops with the locals in the evenings were experiences I will never forget. I believe that the small group size and great itineraries with On the Go attracts people who are truly passionate about travel, both as clients and as guides. Our guide Momo was fabulous! His knowledge and passion were evident in everything he did for us. Everything was taken care of for us at all of our stops and we were always provided with great information and given adequate time to explore on our own. We truly could not have asked for more (and if we would have, I'm sure he'd have found a way to make it happen).

For people who are interested in exploring Egypt in an authentic way that still provides comfort at the end of the day, I would strongly recommend On the Go.

Our tour was fantastic! Alam is very professional, knowledge and was open to answering our many questions with ease and generosity. All of the stops we made were and are my favourites, how can you pick just one? Alam is exceptional he arranged two additional items for our group. One was a hotel room so that our group might shower and be refreshed for our overnight train to Aswan. Second he arranged for us to have a Felucca ride and a swim in the Nile. He went above and beyond for us. Our group was small and I feel it allowed for a special dynamic between us all, and Alam was an integral part of the magic of Egypt.

Many thanks

Ann

Egypt has always been on my list of places to visit and I wasn't disappointed. The King Ramses tour showed off the amazing and historical highlights of the country. Everything was run very smoothly and was very well organised. From the time we arrived we were shown the warmth of the Egyptian people, which continued throughout the trip. I have no complaints about the trip, all experiences were amazing and we learnt an incredible amount about the people, history and culture. As for our incredible guide Haytham, it's truly amazing how much knowledge and passion he has for his country. I highly recommend this tour and OTG.

We spent 13 days on The King Ramses tour and enjoyed every minute. It was nothing short of amazing! From we arrived on day one we were looked after so well. The tour was laid out perfectly and allowed us to explore so much of ancient Egypt and get a great insight in to its vast history. I would never have thought I would have enjoyed being with a tour group and guide as much but I was very wrong in thinking that. Perhaps that's due to how lucky we were to have Dino as our tour guide. He was truly amazing. He was so knowledgeable and attentive to everyone in our group. I'm sure the questions he was asked by us he has been asked 100 times but you would never know as his manner was so relaxed and interested. He made the tour so much more enjoyable for us and I am so thankful that we had him show us around for two weeks! I would recommend this tour to any one in an instant. Without a doubt the best trip I've taken to date. Thank you!!

I just did the King Ramses Tour in April 2016. It was the most incredible trip, better than I could have ever imagined! I have always wanted to go see the pyramids and all the beautiful things Egypt has to offer. Our tour guide Alam was the best! He was very knowledgeable in Egyptian history and answered all of our questions. He also, always made sure everyone was having a great time and made us feel welcome and like part of the family. I went alone and met with the group in Cairo. I want to assure everyone that Egypt is very safe and not once during the entire trip did I feel unsafe. Egypt is so beautiful and if it is on your list of places to go than you definitely should go! We visited the pyramids, many temples, sailed on the Nile River, and got to relax for a few days at the Red Sea (Does it get any better than this?) On The Go Tours and everyone that worked for them were just incredible, kind, organized, helpful and took care of everything, from arriving at the airport, during the entire trip, and getting back to the airport, they didn’t miss any details! Alam, I want to thank you once again for an outstanding trip, your expertise, respect and love of everything and everyone!
