Our first stop this morning is to the Wild Arctic Husky Park in Ranua Zoo. Here we will learn all about huskies and their way of living. After a quick introduction we can take the opportunity to ride on a mini safari (3km) with a musher. Afterwards there will be time to photograph the huskies and ask any questions about them.
This afternoon we continue into Ranua Zoo, the northernmost zoo in the world. Once there you can opt to walk around the zoo yourself or stick with the guide who will walk around with you. The zoo has a plethora of Arctic wildlife to admire in their wilderness setting. Look out for elk, reindeer, wolverines and arctic fox - but the highlight of any trip here is the magnificent polar bear. This fascinating zoo helps us discover and understand these animals living in countries with extreme conditions.
