Pass By: Volcano Eyjafjallajokull, Selfoss Iceland

Iceland's most notorious volcano is undoubtedly Eyjafjallajökull, which last erupted in 2010 and caused flight disruptions in Europe for weeks.

Stop At: Skogafoss, Skogar Iceland

Before reaching Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, you will stop at Skogafoss, a stunning waterfall that allows you access to great views from both below and above, by way of a staircase.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Glacier Lagoon, Skaftafell National Park Route 1, Jokulsarlon 781 Iceland

Vatnajokull glacier is massive, covering 14,000 sq km and it is Breidamerkurjokull, one of the many sections of this great glacier, that creates the magical Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. Large hunks of ice cleave from the glacier, falling into the lagoon before flowing out into the ocean. These large sparkling pieces of ice are eventually pushed back onto the beach by the ocean waves creating an impromptu ice sculpture garden on the black sands giving the beach its name, Diamond Beach.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Diamond Beach, Diamond Head Drive Glacier Lagoon Jokulsarlon, Jokulsarlon Iceland

When large icebergs have floated out of the glacier lagoon and towards the ocean, they are often pushed back onto the beach by ocean waves where they sparkle like diamonds on the black sand.

Duration: 10 minutes

Pass By: Skeiðarársandur, Þjóðvegur, Iceland

Drive through the starkly beautiful black sand expanse of Skeidararsandur.

Duration: 45 minutes

It was a great experience. Our bus driver and tour guide are very experienced and professional. The day was long but our tour guide Guila provided a lot of insights into Icelandic culture and history. The glacier lagoon is amazing and I strongly suggest taking the amphibian boat ride.Overall, a great day!!

Very long, but fabulous, day tour. Driver and guide were both excellent (and patient). The scenery is quite stunning and the places visited very interesting, though obviously quite crowded (tourist season). A most enjoyable day.

It was an incredible nice day. The tour was well organized, the landscape and the tour itself was beautiful and our tour guide Halle was very friendly, funny and shared a lot of information with us. Thank you Halle!

My wife and I were wary when booking this because of how long the day seemed, but we can definitely say that the length of this tour is worth it! The stops were planned perfectly to give us time to stretch and eat during the trip. Plus, the places we stopped, such as Vik, were beautiful. You don't want to miss seeing the South Coast while in Iceland because it is rich in history and absolutely breathtaking! Our tour guide was very informational and had a good sense of humor, but he also made sure to not talk the entire time so we could enjoy the views from the bus while traveling between locations. The Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon topped off the day and was worth the long drive. We had the chance to buy tickets to take a boat ride on the Glacier Lagoon when we checked into the bus stop, so if you get the chance, you should do it! We highly recommend this tour.

It was a 14 hour long trip but with enough breaks and beautiful sightseeing. The amphibian boat cruise in Glacial lagoon is recommended.

Just an amazing tour. For a 14 hour tour, it did not feel long at all. Beautiful weather with sunshine and nice view of the glaciers. Amazing water falls , and the glacier lagoon was the highlight. Nice tour guide and bus driver.

It's a long 14-hour tour but managed very well! adequate amount of time for everything - rest stops and site seeing. A lot of useful and interesting information. Pick upend drop off was very organized as well. Make sure to wait for your pick up at the bus stop exactly how it says on your booking email. Some hotels are not the pick up point but the bus stops are 1-2 minutes away. Ask your hotel staff where is the bus stop you need. Overall we had very good experience. It was just me and my 11-year old. We both enjoyed the tour. Takk!

Even though it's a LONG day 14 hours driving, you get to see a lot of the area. I highly recommend this trip despite any complaints about 500 miles driving.

Breathtaking! Incredible experience! A MUST DO!

It was a very wonderful experience. The waterfalls, black sand beach and glacier lagoon are all spectacular and breathtaking. It was a long day trip but was well worth it. The drive was not boring. The labs fields, mini waterfalls, glacier and the happily grazing Icelandic horses and sheeps kept us awake and curious of what’s next to be seen and enjoyed.

Simply Excellent. It was my favorite place to visit.

This was an amazing day. We only had one day to spend in Iceland and this long day was a great way to see a lot in a little amount of time. The views outside the city were amazing from the black sand to the volcano mountains to the waterfalls. One of the highlights of the trip was definitely the glacier lagoon which was beautiful. The boat ride was great and not too cold which was nice. One thing to note was the bus driver was a little more aggressive than others we have had. This didn't bother us directly, but other tourists noticed it and some of the people he passed on the road a bicyclist in particular did comment on his driving. Aside from this, this trip was a great way to spend one day in Iceland.

Worth the trip!

Such a beautiful tour and great, comfortable bus - with knowledgeable guide - Reina. The black sand beach with the icebergs had to be a highlight. Just spectacular - though a long day, was well worth it. We had 4 teens with us two boys aged 13 and two girls 15 - and when we thought the would be antsy during the day, they all said this day was their favorite part of the trip!

A very long day but well worth it. The sites are unlike anything you've seen before! Absolutely magical. Brandon and Chrissy were amazing tour guides / drivers. They went well out of their way to make it such a memorable day. We had an issue with a road closure which meant a 5 hour delay back to Reykjavic.. not only did Brandon organise for the restaurant to stay open late for us, but he re-organised half the groups buses to the airport in the morning so no body missed a flight. He was also both hilarious and knowledgable. And always happy to take a photo for you! If you only do one tour, this is the one to do.

Shocking experience to visit the Jökulsárlon Glacier Lagoon...there are no words to describe such dimensión of beauty and odd. Iceland is like Mars...the mountains seem to raise like trolls and the combination of ice, volcanos and lack of people in general take you as a visitor to unknow emotions of bliss.

If you take only one tour while in Reykjavik, this has to be the one! It is a very long tour but there were lots to see! The waterfalls were amazing we went to one at night but still visible. Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon is a fantastic sight.

Long day but well worth it-the last stop at night for the waterfall was kind of useless

This was an amazing tour. The Glacier Lagoon and the Black Sand beaches can't be beat. We also stopped at some gorgeous waterfalls along the way. It's a long day, but I still wish we had more time at the Lagoon and the beach. The guide was very knowledgable.

Even though it's a long day, it's well worth it. Scenery is incredible. Stopped to see a couple of waterfalls before heading out to see the glacier and the lagoon. It was amazing! Probably my favorite experience in Iceland.
