Stop At: Dharavi, Mumbai India

Walking tour inside Asias biggest Slum Dharavi, its a one to one and a half hour walk inside slum area where you get to see both residential and commercial part of Slums.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Dhobi Ghat, Dr. E. Moses Rd. near Mahalakshmi Station, Mumbai India

Unique feature of Mumbai, the dhobi is a traditional laundryman, who will collect your dirty linen, wash it, and return it neatly pressed to your doorstep. All for a pittance. The "laundries" are called "ghats": row upon row of concrete wash pens, each fitted with its own flogging stone. The clothes are soaked in sudsy water, thrashed on the flogging stones, then tossed into huge vats of boiling starch and hung out to dry. Next they are ironed and piled into neat bundles, almost two hundred dhobis and their families work together in what has always been a hereditary occupation.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Hanging Gardens (Ferozeshah Mehta), Malabar Hill, Mumbai 400075 India

Perched at the top of Malabar Hill, on its western side, just opposite the Kamala Nehru Park, these terraced gardens, also known as Ferozeshah Mehta Gardens, provide lovely sunset views over the Arabian Sea. The park was laid out in the early 1880s over Bombay's main reservoir, some say to cover the water from the potentially contaminating activity of the nearby Towers of Silence

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Mani Bhavan Gandhi Museum, 19 Laburnum Road Gamdevi, Mumbai 400007 India

Mani Bhavan is the old Mumbai residence of Mahatma Gandhi. It's a pretty, two-storied structure that now houses a reference library with over 2000 books, a photo exhibition of the Mahatma's life, and well preserved memorabilia, including an old charkha or spinning wheel that Gandhiji used to use. Today, its only a symbolic exhibit that lies unused, but many old Gandhians still visit the place to pay homage to their hero and demonstrate the noble art of spinning your own yarn!

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Marine Drive, Chaupati, Mumbai 400021 India

Marine Drive is a skillfully laid-out boulevard in South Mumbai. It is actually an upturned 'C'-shaped six lane concrete road, which lengthens to 3 km along the coastline - a natural bay. This avenue connects Nariman Point with Malabar Hills. Situated over domesticated land, facing west-south-west, its coastline forms the part of the Arabian Sea. What draws attention to this avenue is the striking esplanade next to the road, where scores of people come to breathe fresh air and view sunset.

Duration: 25 minutes

Stop At: Oval Maidan, 140, महर्षी कर्वे, रोड, Mantralaya, Churchgate, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400032, India

The precinct has Victorian neo-gothic architecture buildings of the 19th century on one site. On the other side it has Bombay High Court, Mumbai University which are also heritage structures. The ground boundaries hold the largest cluster of art deco buildings and hence the government is keen to get the world heritage tag for the area.

You also see Cricketers practice at Cross Maidan in Mumbai. The city's biggest open spaces.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Gateway of India, Apollo Bandar, Colaba, Mumbai 400001 India

Mumbai's most famous monument, this is the starting point for most tourists who want to explore the city. It was built as a triumphal arch to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary, complete with four turrets and intricate latticework carved into the yellow basalt stone. Ironically, when the Raj ended in 1947, this colonial symbol also became a sort of epitaph: the last of the British ships that set sail for England left from the Gateway. Today this symbol of colonialism has got Indianised, drawing droves of local tourists and citizens. Behind the arch, there are steps leading down to the water.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Colaba, Mumbai 400005 India

From ferry point at Apollo bunder in Colaba get to go on a ferry tour, cruising along the Mumbai city's coast line.

Duration: 30 minutes

Pass By: Town Hall (Asiatic Society Library), Town Hall, Opposite Horniman Circle Shahid Bhagat Singh Road, Fort, Mumbai, Mumbai 400001 India

Town Hall is one of the most majestic structures among the other heritage buildings in the city of Mumbai. One can say that this building represents one of the last architectural remnants of the Victorian Bombay (Mumbai).

History

Mumbai's Town Hall is a colonial structure and was built in 1833. The plan for its construction began in 1811.

Stop At: Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, DN Road Mumbai CST Area, Mumbai 400001 India

Modeled on the lines of the St Pancras Station in London, Victoria Terminus is undoubtedly the Raj's piece de resistance, Complete with carved stone friezes, stained glass windows and flying buttresses. It is Gothic architecture at its best, an awesome edifice that most citizens view with deep pride. At the top of the central dome stands the triumphant figure of Progress. The station was christened to commemorate Victoria Jubilee Day in 1887 when India's first steam engine puffed out to neighbouring Thane, about 45 kms away. Today it has been rechristened Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus after the Maratha warrior. And the old steam engines have been replaced by electric ones. But to the 2.5 million commuters who push past its massive portals every day, this is still VT, the pulse of a throbbing city.

I was alone in Mumbai and so I decided to book this tour to have a "local guide". Overall a deep and satisfying tour, but Mumbai is nothing "exceptional" regarding monuments.Tour was absolutely great to understand the diversity and the mood of Mumbai! My guide was Vishal, a guy living in the Mumbai slum and my driver was Devraj. Vishal was absolutely great, full of information and kindness. Highly client oriented! Driver was 100% valued. Raccomended!

This tour is designed to satisfy the curiosity of people having to do the most of a short stay in Mumbai. It would do as well for a first time contact with that buzzing city.Thank’s to Rahul, my guide for the day, I had a glimpse on what lays behind that gigantic place. He guided me through time, history and key land marks, with his communicative enthusiasm.Knowledgeable and pleasant, he made me realize the complex equilibrium that exists in between the slums and the local economy. He drew me as well the opportunities and the realities, that lies behind the narrow passes of Dharavi. It has been a day well organized and well spent.

There is no way around the fact that the traffic is horrendous but you just have to put up with it. Great guide and driver - we pretty much covered the highlights. If you combine this tour with the slum tour plus the street food tour you will get a great understanding of this city. Well worth the money.

If you're going to Mumbai for a short period of time and you don't want to miss the city's key sightseeing spots, this tour is perfect for you - especially because it's private and fairly customizable depending on your interests. Having the tour of the Dharavi Slum included is definitely what differentiates this tour from any other. You'll get to see the real way the average citizen lives in the slums, and the sense of community that these hardworking and friendly people project. My tour guide Rahul was great in every possible way, kudos for him on being such a passionate and knowledgeable guide.

We only had 1 day to see Mumbai and feel super lucky to have Rahul as our tour guide. It was great to have a native tour guide who is so proud of his city. He was able to accommodate us very well and it was super easy to schedule even though we booked the tour the day before. Having a private tour guide and driver is definitely the best way to see Mumbai and all it has to offer.

A wonderful way to see several different worlds in a short period of time! Well worth the investment! There is no way one could see so much in such a brief period of time on one's own. I had a driver and a guide and both were friendly and highly professional. My guide, Rahul Devaliya was charming, considerate and well-informed and informing. He was particularly skillful as we toured the not-to-be-missed Dharavi Slum - a magnificent tour of a city within the city of Mumbai. HIGHLY recommend!!!

This tour was awesome. My guide Kirtan was both entertaining and knowledgeable, and he was great about personalizing the experience for me. Our driver Mr. Pathak was also amazing, always on time, fun, and knowledgeable as well. I highly recommend booking a tour with this company, they really go out of their way to make sure your trip is perfect.

Awesome day out in Mumbai, a great way to see the city highlights in one day. A fantastic guide at Dharavi and during the day, totally customisable tour to meet your needs. Also got the added bonus of trying a few famous local dishes! Highly recommended trip to anyone short on time in Mumbai and wanting to see as much as possible.

I booked the Private Sightseeing Tour with Dharavi Slum Tour and had an amazing experience, especially as a woman travelling alone. My tour guide Sunil was fantastic, he taught me a huge amount about the city and were easily able to get around through having a driver. He listened to my feedback about places and adapted the tour to take me places that he thought I might be interested that were not on the scheduled itinerary as a Hindu temple. He also took me on a local train, something that I would have been too nervous to do alone but he made sure I was able to experience the local way of life. The slum tour was an incredible experience and Sunil made sure I felt comfortable the whole time and had a chance to interact with the people who live there in an uplifting and informative way. I would highly recommend the tour and slum experience too - some people had suggested the slum was not a place to go but I completely disagree and am so glad I went with such a great guide!

This was a most remarkable tour guided by Kamlesh and driven by Pradeep. A safe driver in the tumult of Mumbai manic driving is essential and we felt safe all the time. We viewed many important sights including the Victoria Rail station, Dobbe Gaut, Monument Gate, Hanging Gardens, Mumbai University, Ghandi House, did some shopping and most importantly viewed both the commercial and residential parts of the slums. Kamlesh was very confident in this area and his advice, commentary and guidance was first class - we could not have been more pleased despite the sights one sees - this is real Mumbai and the tour is expertly delivered. Be prepared to have your senses assaulted but to leave knowing what life is like for the proud slum dwellers. This tour is very highly commended.

The tour and the guide were both excellent. We wanted to try Pav Bhaji while we were there so he adjusted our tour so he could take us to a Pav Bhaji restaurant for lunch. Both the Mumbai and the Dharavi slum tours were good but I must say the Slum tour was an eye opener and our favorite tour of our entire 21 day trip in South East Asia.

Good and Interesting tour. You get to see the very tough conditions that the people living on the Slum faces. Very educational!!!
• Submitted 26 Mar 2018
The main part of this tour I booked for was the Slum tour, and that was tastefully and sensitively done, with my guide clearly being familiar with several people and friendly with them. I liked having a personal tour, but having another peer to ask a question or two would have been nice too.

Overall an insightful and fun tour, but nothing exceptional. Driver was great my actual guide - which seems to vary from tour to tour - seemed to just be along for the ride.

Tour was suppose to start at 9am. Got an email day prior to tour - said driver would be there 9:30am. We arrived in lobby at 9:15 and driver seemed irritated he had to wait. Slum Tour was good - very eye opening. It was a hot day so we were anxious to get in the car. City tour was just alright. We enjoyed the Ghandi museum most. Both driver and guides were on their phones constantly which we thought was rude. Decided not to get out of car at a few places because of the extreme heat. Can't control the heat, unfortunately.

I read the reviews on line and though this was clearly the tour to go for. Unfortunately it did not live up to it's billing. For a start although the tour was claimed to be around 8 hours for me it was less than 7 hours. Several parts were missed. The part Take a ferry tour to get a glimpse of the coast of Mumbai was completely missed. The Lunch included was not, I was dropped of at a restaurant and told to call the guide when I was finished, so i paid for lunch. The Entrance Fee's included weren't, although it was only 10 rupee. The walking tour of the slums was 1 hour and after that i was taken back to the hotel. The driver, Mr Pathak, was very friendly, the guide also quite friendly
