Itinerary

Day 1

Welcome to India

We begin our adventure in the buzzing capital, where we meet our group and Tour Leader for a full briefing on the journey ahead. A short Hindi lesson gives us a few useful phrases to use along the way.

Our first taste of Delhi includes a guided city tour—diving into the spice-scented lanes of Old Delhi, discovering colorful temples, and seeing Connaught Place, Delhi Haat market, and the beautiful white-marble Bangla Sahib Gurdwara. In the evening, we’re free to explore more of the neighborhood and choose a spot for dinner.

Day 2

New Delhi

Today is a free day to dive deeper into Delhi. You might start in the peaceful Lodhi Garden, then browse the stylish Khan Market. Must-see landmarks include the towering Qutub Minar, striking Lotus Temple, and Humayun’s Tomb—India’s first garden tomb.

Or visit Akshardham temple, the Aagrasen ki Baoli stepwell, or the Raj Ghat memorial to Gandhi. In the evening, we board the overnight sleeper train to Varanasi, a sacred city on the banks of the Ganges.

Day 3

Varanasi

After arriving in Varanasi, we settle into our accommodation and enjoy some downtime. Later, we build on our Hindi skills with a second group lesson. In the afternoon, you can choose to explore the archaeological site of Sarnath, where Buddha gave his first sermon.

As the sun sets, we head to the ghats for a moving boat ride on the Ganges, culminating in the Ganga Aarti ceremony—a magical ritual of fire and devotion that lights up the riverbanks.

Day 4

Explore Veranasi

We start the day early with an optional sunrise boat ride along the river—an unforgettable way to witness local life along the ghats.

Afterwards, there's time to explore the narrow lanes of Varanasi’s old market or visit a traditional music and dance performance in the afternoon. After dinner, we board our second overnight train—this time to Agra.

Day 5

Taj Mahal Agra

We arrive in Agra before dawn to witness the Taj Mahal at sunrise—watching the marble monument glow as the sun rises behind it is something we’ll never forget. After breakfast, we drive by private transfer to Jaipur.

Once checked in, we head to Nahargarh Fort in the hills for a sweeping view over the Pink City as the sun sets. Later, there’s time to explore or join the group for dinner.

Day 6

Discover Jaipur

An optional sunrise hot air balloon ride offers stunning views over Jaipur. Later, we visit the famous Amber Fort, known for its ornate architecture and sweeping hilltop views. The afternoon is free to explore the City Palace, Hawa Mahal (the Palace of Winds), or Jantar Mantar observatory.

You might shop for crafts at Bapu Bazaar or join an optional evening street food tour to sample Jaipur’s favorite snacks before heading out to enjoy the city’s lively nightlife.

Day 7

Jaipur - Jaisalmar

This morning we visit the Monkey Temple, a peaceful and scenic spot on the outskirts of the city filled with curious monkeys and striking shrines.

The rest of the day is free—relax at a cafe, explore the bazaars, or take an optional Indian art class. In the evening, we catch the overnight train west to Jaisalmer, gateway to the Thar Desert.

Day 8

Thar Desert

Arriving in Jaisalmer, we enjoy a relaxed morning and breakfast at a local guesthouse. We then visit the golden Jaisalmer Fort, which rises dramatically from the desert and houses temples, homes, and shops within its ancient walls. You might also visit Gadsisar Lake or viewpoints around the city.

In the afternoon, we set off by jeep into the desert for a camel trek across the dunes. As evening falls, we reach our campsite, enjoy a traditional dinner by the fire, and sleep under the stars.

Day 9

Jaisalmer to Jodhpur

Waking naturally with the desert sunrise, we enjoy breakfast before returning to the city. From there, we transfer by private vehicle to Jodhpur.

After checking in, we set out to explore the old town, stopping by the Clock Tower and the impressive stepwell Toorji Ka Jhalra. In the evening, we may relax with a drink at the Stepwell Cafe or take in the views from a rooftop terrace.

Day 10

Explore Jodhpur

Today is free to explore at your own pace. Optional experiences include a cooking class where we learn to prepare classic Indian dishes while discovering their cultural roots.

For the adventurous, the Flying Fox zipline offers thrilling views of the Mehrangarh Fort and the city below. Tonight, we gather on the rooftop to share stories and enjoy our final evening in Rajasthan.

Day 11

Fly To Mumbai

This morning we catch a flight to Mumbai, our final stop. After transferring to our accommodation and settling in, we can unwind from the travel day with an optional rooftop bar visit or join the group for a casual film night at the hostel.

Day 12

Mumbai

We start the day with an optional guided visit to Dharavi, one of the largest slums in Asia, for a respectful look at its vibrant industries and strong community spirit. We also stop at Dhobi Ghat, the world’s largest outdoor laundry.

Later, we explore Mumbai’s colonial landmarks, including the Gateway of India and the colorful Colaba district. Our final evening is free—whether you want to enjoy a sunset drink by the sea or join the group for a night out in this energetic city.

Day 13

Depart Mumbai

Before we part ways, there’s an optional visit to Mani Bhavan, Gandhi’s former home and now a museum. Whether you relax or explore further, it’s time to say farewell to our group after an unforgettable journey through India.
