Fatehpur Sikri & Karauli

Agra - Karauli. This morning we travel to Fatehpur Sikri, which was abandoned more than 400 years ago due to a lack of water. The city remains fantastically preserved and there’s plenty of time to explore before we continue to the Palace Bhanwar Vilas in Karauli. The palace remains the home of the current Maharaja and Maharani, but much of the complex is now a heritage hotel. Take time to explore the peaceful palace grounds and if we’re lucky, we may be able to join a guided tour of the site from the Princess. This UNESCO-listed site is home to the world’s largest stone sundial.

Spanning 282 square kilometres, the park is home to more than 80 individual tigers (2018).

During our time at the park we venture into the wilderness on three included game drives, giving us a great chance of spotting these majestic animals. I really enjoyed my trip. The organization and logistics were excellente. The time schedule and itinerary really covered very well the region of Rajasthan throught out the 2 weeks. The quality of hotels (apart from Dehli Hotel Amondz that was horrible!) were specially good as it included in most of the cities visited, heritage houses of more than 200 years history which offered very updated and maintained facilities and services.

What I enjoyed the most was our Tour Guide Nand Singh Rathore. He is a very kind, knowledgeable and trustworthy person. He is an exceptional professional, who always took personally care of all our needs during the 15 days together. He helps us experienced Rajasthan as locals.

I will certainly choose once again On the Go Tour for my next trip.

The tour was fabulous , the guide was very knowledgeable and had very good english .

He went out of his way to do things for us and even introduced us to various members of his family at various locations.i would recommend ON the Go to my friends , particularly the reliability of being met at ariports/railways etc , gave a very good feeling of organisation . This for slightly older travellers is critically important.

Tour was excellent overall. The second week of the tour when there were just the two of us plus a driver was better than the first week when we had to travel with 23 other people although having said that, I did make lots of friends. The tour itinerary was fabulous and we saw so much of India in such a short space of time. Well done to the team.

This was a very good tour made into a great tour by our guide Satendra, his local knowledge, sense of humour and caring attitude made the holiday into something special. We couldn't have asked for a better guide to lead us around Rajasthan. The tour was certainly 'On the Go', we packed a lot in and enjoyed all the palaces, forts and temples. The visit to the school in Alsisar was a highlight for the group. Our only critisism was that we would have liked a little more free time for shopping! Also it would have been good if complimentary bottled water was available in every hotel. Thank you Satendra and On the Go for making our trip to India a wonderful experience.

I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this tour. Our guide Satish was remarkable and highly competent. He went out of his way to help anyone including my friend A Swanepoel who injured her knee. He was most helpful to find a doctor etc etc. He chose excellent restaurants and could advise us on where to shop or where to eat, what was best for us was always on top of his list.

Generally I enjoyed the tour very much. The itinerary was very full which was just what I wanted. I saw all the main things I wanted to see and most of the local guides were very informative. Most of the hotels were comfortable and we went to some very good restaurants. Satish was a lovely guide who looked after us all very well and was genuinely concerned that we should all enjoy our holiday.

A few small problems. I would have liked better information about the tour group before I travelled. I was told I was in a group of 8 which turned out to be 22 for the first week then 10 for the second week and the group was from 5 different countries. This is not a problem but I would have liked to know before I travelled.

The hotel standard was not consistent. Those in Jaipur and Udaipur were fantastic. the one in Jaiselmer was awful.

The guide at my highlight of the tour, The Taj Mahal was useless. None of us could understand what he was saying and the more this happened the more irritated he became so that Satish had to try and tactfully step in.

I would have liked a reminder email when the final payment of my holiday was due.

My only reservation is that as a single traveller I was fortunate with this group that everyone got on and stayed as a group. If that hadn't happened, most of the group were in coupes or with friends so I would have been on my own.
