Welcome to India and the start of your holiday! Arrive Delhi, included transfer to hotel.
We have a full day sightseeing tour of Delhi, taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more. Tonight, we enjoy a Namaste Dinner at a restaurant specialising in classic Indian cuisine.
Departing Delhi, we journey to Agra, once India’s Mughal capital. Here we enjoy a horsecart or rickshaw ride to the legendary Taj Mahal. Built entirely of white marble, the Taj Mahal has no peers. Continuing, we visit Agra fort, which boasts some of India’s finest Mughal buildings behind it’s fortified walls.
Today we drive to Bharatpur, with a stop enroute at Fatehpur Sikri. We check into the hotel and in the afternoon, enjoy a bird watching tour in the world famous bird sanctuary, Keoladeo Ghana National Park, the nesting place for thousands of species of birds.
We will drive you through to Ranthambhore National park today and in the afternoon we will take you on a game drive in a shared Canter or jeep.
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the national park. Ranthambore National Park is one of the prime examples of Project Tiger’s conservation efforts in Rajasthan. The forests around the Ranthambore Fort were once the private hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Jaipur
After our final morning game drive we will depart from this wonderful NP park hopefully having seen some of the elusive tigers. After you will arrive on to Jaipur 'The Pink City' enjoy some free time this evening to relax in this bustling Rajastani city.
This morning we visit the fort-palace of Amber - a wonderful example of Rajput architecture. Subject to Government regulations, we will arrive on an elephant! In the afternoon you will enjoy a tour of the city, including the City Palace and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory. This evening we will celebrate Diwali at Birla Temple, also known as Lakshmi Narayan Temple. Diwali involves the lighting of small clay lamps filled with oil signifying the triumph of good over evil. All the celebrants wear new clothes and share sweets and snacks with family members and friends.
Today, we drive to the semi-desert Shekhawati region. The small towns in this region became important trading posts, a lasting legacy of which are the beautiful painted havelis (mansions) constructed by wealthy merchants in the 18th and 19th centuries. Afternoon village walk and time to relax.
Returning to Delhi, the latter part of the afternoon is free for you to relax or independently explore more of Delhi.
We will transfer you to the airport in time for your departure flight.
