Today, we enjoy a full days guided sightseeing tour of Old & New Delhi including Red Fort (closed Mondays), Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat, Qutub Minar, Humayun's tomb and Lutyen's buildings.
Bright and early this morning we board the Shatabdi Express bound for Kalka. Here, travellers will transfer (independently) to the narrow gauge Himalayan Queen Toy Train travelling to Shimla. To the commotion of the steam locomotion's arrival to Shimla, we meet our representative on the station platform and transfer to our hotel for an evening at leisure.
Former ‘summer capital’ of British India, Shimla sprawls along a crescent-shaped ridge at an altitude of over 2100m. The famous main street, ‘The Mall’, lined with stately English homes and the fortress-like former Viceregal Lodge, reinforces Shimla’s quintessential English look. Today we enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of the lofty settlement, venturing into the narrow streets, which fall steeply away from the ridge giving way to colourful bazaars and fine views of the surrounding valley and snow-capped peaks.
Today, we drive to Chandigarh train station for your train to Amritsar. Arrive Amritsar and you are met at the train station and transferred to your hotel. (Private vehicle with driver only).
This morning enjoy a sightseeing tour of the historic Amritsar, including the Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh, Durgiana Templet, Ranjit Singh Panorma & Wagah Border. Amritsar’s main attraction - the beautiful Golden Temple, is made of white marble, bronze and gold leaf. The lower half of the Golden Temple is covered with marble and the upper with copper, overlaid with pure gold leaf, thus the name “The Golden Temple”. This afternoon travel approximately 28km to Wagah, which is the only border crossing between India and Pakistan. Visiting Wagah is an interesting experience especially at sunset when the ‘Retreat’ ceremony takes place with the BSF on the Indian Side of the Border. The changing of the guards and the ceremonial lowering of the flags ceremony is carried out with great pomp.
We travel by road today to Dharamsala (roughly 6 hours). (Private vehicle with driver only).
Today, we enjoy a full days sightseeing in Dharamsala including visit to Nam Gyal monastery, Tibet Museum, St. John Church and Kangra.

We travel to Leh (roughly 1 hours) en route visiting Tangland La Pass. (Private vehicle with driver only).

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Delhi, where you will be met and transferred to Agra, once India’s Mughal capital (Delhi to Agra roughly 5 hours). (Private vehicle with driver only).
This morning, we take a motorised buggy to the legendary Taj Mahal (closed Fridays). Built entirely of white marble, the Taj Mahal has no peers. Continuing, we visit Agra fort, which boasts some of India’s finest Mughal buildings behind it’s fortified walls. This afternoon we drive to Jaipur (roughly 5 hours). Look out for the snake charmers that dot our route, as we travel to the 16th century Amber Fort. An exotic elephant ride (subject to elephant availability) transports us to the lofty fort, where we’ll enjoy a tour of this Rajput extravaganza. Later in the afternoon we tour the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory.
Our last big drive of the tour as we head back to Delhi (roughly 5 hours). (Private vehicle with driver only).
