Stop At: Vatican Museums, Viale Vaticano, 00120 Vatican City Italy

Vatican tours with skip-the-line access are sought-after, so even the fast-track lines are long. This experience includes admission through a special entrance, so there are no lines whatsoever. Follow your guide directly inside the vast collection of private artwork that is the Vatican Museums.

Walk through the Gallery of the Maps and Gallery of Tapestries as you listen to tales of Vatican intrigue. Gaze at artifacts such as timeworn yet fascinating Italian maps, and admire the sculptures and candelabras of the Gallery of Candelabras. Stop for photos in front of the Pigna statue in the Pinecone Courtyard, designed by Dontao Bramante.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Sistine Chapel, Citta del Vaticano 1, 00120 Vatican City Italy

Pass through the rooms, and then step inside the Sistine Chapel — the pope’s personal place of worship and a highlight of any Vatican trip. Stand beneath Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam, which cloaks the ceiling, and admire The Last Judgement, his colorful mural that adorns a wall.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Stanze di Raffaello, Viale Vaticano, Vatican City Italy

Raphael’s Rooms are a series of galleries that highlight the talent of the lauded Renaissance artist himself.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: St. Peter's Basilica, Piazza San Pietro, 00120 Vatican City Italy

After your Sistine Chapel visit, continue to St Peter’s Basilica, the symbolic heart of the Catholic church. Learn about its history and see more Vatican art including Michelangelo’s La Pietà, which was sculpted when the maestro was only 24 years old. Gaze at the baldachino by Bernini, and then say goodbye to your guide in St Peter’s Square.

Keep in mind that St Peter's Basilica and St Peter's Square might be unavailable on Wednesdays due to the weekly Papal Audience. As an alternative, you'll be offered an extended itinerary within the Vatican Museums, which still includes the Sistine Chapel and Raphael's Rooms.

If you want to make sure that St Peter's Basilica and Square are included in your tour, don't select Wednesday as your travel date. If you want to enhance your Vatican experience, select one of the following experiences: Small-Group Tour at 8:10am:

I am so glad that I opted for this tour. Our guide was just awesome ( sorry I forgot her name) She has in-depth knowledge about Vatican. My suggestion, you must take this tour to know detail about Vatican and to avoid queues. Thanks a lot for this wonderful experience.

Our tour guide, Jessica, was absolutely incredible! She was so knowledgeable and shared story after story about sculptures, paintings, buildings, everything! What made it even better was her passion for what she was telling us; you could really tell that she loved history and art. When we were having problems hearing her through the radios, Jessica was quick to find solutions. The process of meeting up and getting into the Vatican was super simple. Everything in regards to this tour was fantastic. I would highly recommend this tour and specifically our tour guide, Jessica.

Our tour guide was Alessandra and she did an amazing job distilling so much Roman, Italian and art history. I know there are free tours but we really wanted a proper tour to get everything out of our visit and we got just that. By the time we saw St. Peter’s Basilica, I felt like I was able to take so much more out of it and looked for all the details Alessandra mentioned. We did this tour in December and while a bit chilly, the weather was perfect and lines short or non-existent.

This was my favorite tour during my whole entire trip. We had the most amazing tour guide. Amil was super friendly and knowledgeable and made our tour so fun. This tour is a must do when going to Rome you will not regret it.

This tour was great! Definitely worth the money. We were so happy to see the Sistine Chapel without waiting in the long line. Loved the Vatican museums as well, definitely very informative and highly recommended!

Everything went as expected. The only complaint I would have was at the beginning they met at the bottom of these steps just to walk back up them. We visited everything as advertised. The Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's. Plenty of time to spend in each area. There were a LOT of stairs and a LOT of walking. We clocked 3 miles in the attraction. But we did stay a bit longer in the gift shop and trying to get tickets for the Mass. Here's a tip: You don't need tix for the Angelus prayer on Sunday, but check the Vatican website for their calendar to be sure the Pope is on duty. Also, I've been in the Sistine Chapel several times, but I've never heard a priest come out and pray the benediction over the crowd, so maybe check if you want to receive that!

Perfect. Arrived15 minutes before, given radio set, met tour guide and we were off. It was the small intimate party, and worked very well. Lorelei, our guide, was very knowledgeable and helpful. With the small group, we were able to ask many questions. She answered all without hesitation. Would highly recommend this tour

This is the only way to experience the Vatican Museums. We completely skipped all lines and avoided the very large crowd waiting to get in. The guide thought it was not crowded at all, but for November, I thought it was very crowded. i would not recommend to try this on your own. The skip the line is the only way to go!

Wonderful tour and guide was extremely knowledgeable and interesting. As expected, all sites were extremely crowded, but this did not take away from our experience. Guide was terrific. Would highly recommend this excursion.

My wife and I were part of a 20 person group led by Stefania. She was such a wonderful and informative guide who provided so much historical and current information. The tour was a mile and a half long walk which featured the highlights of the Vatican including The Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica. In addition, we saw the line for people attempting to get in without a "skip the line" entry and it was longer than a football field. Thousands of people visit the Vatican every day, and I highly recommend using this tour to get in quickly and be able to see the all the highlights. Once the tour is over, you are able to continue on your own. Stefania was incredibly patient with everyone in the group (we had one person who kept asking the same questions over and over) and took the time to make everyone feel comfortable to ask anything. She was the perfect guide! One other note, if you read other reviews where people were saying the tour left early and they missed it, or some variation of that, I can say that is most likely not accurate. If you are there on time, you will not miss the tour. However, I would highly recommend NOT doing the Vatican and the Colosseum in the same day. There is too much to see with each tour and the two tours are too far apart to allow for ample time to be on time for the second tour.

Stella was so knowledgeable and knew every detail of history. She was warm and made eye contact with everyone. I can’t say enough about how excellent our tour of the Vatican, St Peters Basilica and the Sistine Chapel was Thank you!

We enjoyed this tour very much. Our tour guide, Sara, was very knowledgable about all aspects of the tour and answered everyone's questions. She always seemed to have a little extra info to add.

Our initial impression wasn’t great. Slightly chaotic having 3-4 different groups gather in one area to check in and be assigned out based on tour purchased. Then the check radio set up and pass out earbuds and swap a bad radio or two. That said after we got past that and broke off with our guide there is no better way to see the Vatican, the guide was professional, experienced, and fully enhanced the visit. The Vatican, Chapel, Basilicca, Architecture, art work both religious and non and the grounds themselves are second to none, I have traveled the world and yet couldn’t help but feel the beauty, curiousity, and reverence and overall reference for and of the Vatican. If you can afford it and do it, then do it as I would recommend this tour company, the tour and the visit to anyone.

Excellent tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and kept a good pace throughout the Vatican. The tour was easy to find and we didn’t have to wait in line at all!

My wife and I went to Rome for a quick visit to see my daughter, who is studying abroad. We snuck a couple of attraction while she was in class. Our Skip-the-Line tour to the Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica tour, was the best. The art work and the beauty was breathtaking. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. She added some personal knowledge and tidbits, along the way. We did not realize what the skip the line process afforded us, until we were leaving and saw the line to get in. The people at the end of the line, said it would be over 2 hours before they would get in. We met a the designated location and walked in with minutes of arriving...BIG difference!!!

Our guide Ava was most knowledgeable. She presented us with a great over-all view of the Sistine Chapel and the Museum. Worth the money to use this tour for a first hand tour.

This was a fantastic tour. My husband and I highly recommend it. We did this fairly early which was a great idea so we weren't so crowded as it would be later in the day. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and the pace was good. This was a very special experience and very memorable.

We felt like we hit the jackpot with our tour guide for the Vatican Museum, Vatican, and Sistine Chapel. Laurel was a seasoned tour guide, but her tour was as fresh as if she was giving it for the first time. With her background in Art History, and what seemed like a true passion and respect for the religious significance of the buildings and the art, we were better able to appreciate what we were seeing and, we hope, gained some knowledge that will stick with us. Her appreciation of the tapestries, sculpture, and maps in the Vatican corridors caused us to give them a closer look than we might have otherwise and appreciate why they were such amazing works of art. When we gained entry to the Sistine Chapel, we were exhorted, "Silencio!". Likewise, no photographs were allowed. So, it was really valuable to have gotten Laurel's insights on the background of Michelangelo's painting of the Sistine Chapel and his actual artwork before we entered. It was obvious that Laurel has spent some time thinking about, and refining, her presentation about the Chapel. I have to say that I was also very impressed that Laurel did not let the rudeness of some of the members of our tour group have a detrimental effect on the rest of us. She was very professional.

The tour guide was knowledgeable, patient and kind. The crowds were heavy but tolerable at this time of year. Time wise it was exceedingly helpful to skip the line and head straight to the guide. Loved this tour! I would possibly add the gardens next time.
