Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Isola di Murano, Isola Di Murano Piazzale Roma o Fondamenta Nuove, 30141 Murano Italy

The enchanting islands of Murano and Burano are the perfect change of pace from Venice’s crowded streets and waterways. And the perfect way to reach them is by private water taxi. Faster and sturdier than a gondola, nimbler and less crowded than a waterbus, water taxis are the premier way to travel in Venice. Few visitors get to experience them, but yours is included, along with an expert local guide who’ll explain Venice’s history as a titan of trade along the way.

Your first port of call is a specially chosen glassblowing workshop on Murano. In the Middle Ages, only Murano’s artisans possessed the secrets of this craft, and sharing them was punishable by execution. You’ll get to witness modern glassblowers wield those once secret techniques, shaping delicate and dazzling works of art from molten glass. Then admire the workshop’s finest work in its gallery, and perhaps take home a piece of your own – with a tour discount. Or explore more of Murano, including its peaceful canals and stunning Byzantine church.

Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes

Stop At: Isola di Burano, Unnamed Road,30142, 30142 Venezia VE, Italy

The locals of nearby Burano still maintain the island’s tradition of handmade lace, some of the finest anywhere in the world. You’ll get to observe lace being hand-stitched the way it has been for generations. Then visit the lace museum to see the island’s greatest work, or simply enjoy the photo opportunity provided by the colorful houses, brightly painted so sailors could see home as they returned from the sea. When you cross the lagoon back to Venice, you’ll have a renewed appreciation of the crafts that put the city on the map so long ago.

Our guide was wonderful. He had an excellent insight into the area which he shared. The islands were beautiful and interesting. We enjoyed our visit very much.

Enrico was an exceptional guide. The tour was relaxing during travel. The glassblowing was informative and interesting. Seeing the lace created in Burano was impressive. Had to side-step some sales people pushing the glass and lace items in the associated stores. Coincidentally, we crossed paths with Enrico the following day while he was not working - he was just as friendly and charismatic - so you know you are getting the "real deal" on the tour.

Murano and Burano were a lovey way to spend a half day in Venice. This was my third trip to Venice but I never took the time to do these islands before. It gives another perspective on the city. Burano is absolutely charming, picturesque. It is what paintings are made of! If you enjoy Museum quality glass, Murano is impressive. I found some interesting pieces of jewelry there.Christina was a great guide...full of helpful tips and information

Really worth getting away from the main Island. Marco was a great guide and had genuine interest in what he was teaching us. Very enjoyable tour. Not to crowded, not too rushed and loved the Aircon boat.

Very nice tour, not too much travelling and lots to see. Watched excellent glass blowing and lace making demonstrations, and had time to explore Burano. Very well thought out tour.

Loved Burano, wish we had more time there, as it was just beautiful, and i could have had all afternoon there. Dont think needed the lace demo/shop, as just wanted the extra time in Burano. Tour guide was brilliant. Murano was nice to see, interesting to see glass being made.

We had a great day, the meeting place was easy to find are guide was there already (Christina) she was great really helpful interesting facts to and from venice to the islands. Our boat was on time and and not to many of us on the tour so more personal. Once at Murano island we were met with the owner who gave us a tour on how to blow glass we then had a little time to wonder before the next island again we were taken to the lace shop and had an introduction on what it takes to make lace pieces before being left to explore the island and a time to be back to meet the boat for the return journey to Venice.

My family and I especially enjoyed Burano. The colorful buildings were beautiful. We felt that there wasn't as much to do in Murano but enjoyed it nonetheless. This trip was a nice, short trip. Francesca was a great tour leader.

This was my favorite tour on our vacation. We really enjoyed the glass factory on Murano and the colorful buildings on Burano. Our tour guide, Franchesca A. was very friendly and knowledgeable. And her gelato recommendation was delicious!

Francesca A. (for City Wonders) is a great tour guide! She shared her local knowledge of Venice and gave us a lot of information about Murano and Burano Islands, as well as the history of Venice and the reasons for the industries located on the outlying islands. She also gave us tips on local restaurants, and what to see in Venice during our short stay. Thank you for a great afternoon, despite the rain! Tonya and Ramone

Manuela was so amazing. She is passionate about her job and knows so much history about each of the sites we visited. You will really enjoy this. We are glad we did this.

One of the best tour on viator i've ever had, Cristina was so professional, if you come to Venezia, take this tour, you won't regret, and Cristina is the best tour guide in Venezia, a private taxi was a big plus

I highly recommend booking this tour! It’s a great way to see more of the Venice area without dealing with complicated transport. Our guide, Valentina, was amazing - so funny and knowledgeable!

The trip was really great Morano was interesting to see the glass factory. They have amazing stuff to watch. Borano was just amazing, the houses are so beautiful and we bought nice lace from there Very much recommend Our guide Franchesca A. was just amazing

Francesca A was fantastic! She was very friendly, very informative and the tour was well organised. The first island (Murano) was great to see the glass-blowing masters at work, we won't spoil anything for you but make sure you stay to the end! The museum showcasing the various artwork was super impressive (although we didn't buy anything). Not too much else to see on the island, but make sure you go and see the glass christmas tree! The second island (Burano) was absolutely stunning, the photo opportunities are endless and you learn much more about the history of Venice over the day. Overall a great tour, well paced with plenty of time to see the sights as well the organised bits. Would highly recommend - Francesca A made the tour!

We enjoyed the tour to Murano and Burano. Glass blowing demo was fascinating. Prices of products, though were more expensive than in Venice (although same certification can be obtained in stores in venice). Burano is pretty place to stroll. Guide alexandra was very informative and friendly

Although not really anything other than what the water bus would do, a small group of only 5 made this almost like a private tour with a very informative guide. Burano is beautiful and far less crowded than Venice.

What a lovely time visiting the islands of Venice.. Christina was so knowledgeable and helpful!.. We were particularly impressed with the glass-blowing by a master!

This was a great way to spend an afternoon! Our guide Cristina was fantastic and very knowledgeable. The glass making demonstration on Murano was one of the best parts. The showroom had incredible pieces. The little bit of free time we had on Murano was just enough to walk into town to find some shops that were more in our price range. Burano was a very quiet, but colorful island. Cristina recommended a fantastic gelato shop, and some of the best spots for pictures around the island. I wish there had been more to see of the lace making. There was only one young lady working on a piece, and she was facing us, so we couldn't see much. I cannot say enough about our guide. We got delayed (all boats in the area had to stop) by a regatta that was taking place, but Cristina gave us quite the history lesson behind it and the artichoke festival that was being celebrated. We had 2 kids with us, and they enjoyed it, especially the glass making and the boat ride itself. Great tour and a great guide.

Arrived in Venice in the morning and took this trip that afternoon. The ride was beautiful, the two spots were amazing and the entire day was just so nice. Our tour guide was wonderful and shared a lot of tips for our time in Venice. Be sure to visit these two gems and enjoy the boat ride-we loved it!!!!

Our guide was Alessandra who was great, really friendly, knowledgeable and made the visit fun. Both islands are well worth a visit away from the crowds of Venice. You do visit a glass factory and are encouraged to buy something but not in a hard sell kind of way.
