Yayo is simply the best... She is lovely and so so generous and informative. This is the second class I took with her. The first was a sushi class a couple years ago and this time a Japanese cooking class. Don't hesitate ... You will be so happy! Thank you yayo!!!!

Yayo was the most gracious host. She met us at the rail station and we walked to her apartment. We were introduced to many Japanese dishes that was way fun to cook and learn about the ingredients. She was super sweet with all the questions we had. It was very fun to sample the different varieties of Sake but the best one was the Plum Sake made by her and her mother. She sent us home with presents - our name, written in Japanese, a cool origami bird, and high-quality chopsticks! Well worth the money and I would do this again on future trips to Japan!

The cooking course was really friendly, easy to locate and most informative. Every question we had was politely answered by our host and we learned the basics of cooking several main Japanese dishes, which I intend to practice when I return home based on the ingredients and recipes provided to us along with memorable items used on the day. Many thanks YAYO, this was a fantastic course.

Yayo is an excellent teacher with a great personality. She taught us how to make some Osaka favorites: okonomiyaki, takoyaki, tamagoyaki (Osaka style) among others. Lunch was followed by a traditional tea service.

Yayo was a wonderful hostess. We had a fabulous time cooking and conversing with her. Yayo was an excellent teacher very encouraging we made a variety of traditional dishes and were given the recipes which we will definitely try ourselves once home. Highly recommend cooking with Yayo. Peta

This class was very enjoyable and taught us some great Japanese foods. Yayo was an excellent teacher and guide for Japanese culture. They were so kind and gracious to our family and even gave us a souvenir bag with yummy goodies.

I had a wonderful cooking class in Osaka last week. My host/chef was awesome, kind, funny and kept the food coming! It's hands on, which I really liked. You don't have to prepare the food just cook it how she shows you. You also get to take some home! I had some saki that was more like champagne! She has these containers that she keeps the saki in with pickled fruit and it's amazing. She also makes her own miso paste with her family and brings that in to cook with. Very authentic, very Osaka, and simply wonderful!

Yoyo and her dog Akane were two wonderful hosts! We went in her apartment in Osaka and she offered us tea and typical Osaka sweets. We then started the cooking class in which we learned how to make dashimaki japanese omelette, okonomiyaki and takoyaki. Yoyo was super nice and she answered all of our many questions. We chatted a lot about Japan and comparisons with Italy our country, food and habits. This is one of the nicest and most beautiful memories from our honeymoon in Japan. Thanks Yoyo! Yayo was an excellent host. She picked us up from the train station and it was a short walk to her apartment where we met her cute puppy. The course started with a tea ceremony where she presented us with a gift of chopsticks and holder. Then we moved onto making a variety of japanese food including the local speciality okonomiyaki and takoyaki balls. we also learned how to make japanese omelettes and accompaniments. It was an excellent afternoon and I highly recommend booking this in for your trip to Osaka.

My daughter and I had an amazing time. Yayo was so hospitable and very talented. We did our best to make replica dishes but Yayo's were the best. We had lots of fun trying! We did the sake tasting as well and that was also good. Very worthwhile thing to do! The real Osaka! Thank you Yayo!

So nice, Yayo (the chief cook) show us how to enjoy matcha tea, how to prepare miso soup, okonomyaki, takoyaki, sushi and also subtleties for dashi and Sojasauce. Do not take a breakfast before!

This by far has been the highlight of my stay in Osaka. Yayo picked us up from the train station and led us to her apartment just a short walk from the station. There we were greeted by her assistant manager, the highly adorable dog Akane. Once inside we got to have a cup of Matcha before we started cooking. Yayo had a great balance of teaching and instructing. She would demonstrate the dish/ technique before encouraging us to make the dish for ourselves. She answered all our questions and kept the lesson fun. The homemade sake was a delicious treat and the added gifts were unexpected and very much appreciated. Yayo is an all around great person and instructor and I would love to have another lesson with her if she ever decides to have additional food options. She is a true gem of Osaka and this class isn't one to miss.

Great class!!! Instructor was a very sweet woman and her English was excellent. I would recommend this class to anyone. Bring your appetite there is a lot of food.

Nothing much to add beyond what's already been said. Yayo was a great guide, and Akane was as charming as you'd hope. The cooking class was seamless even more impressive considering there were 2 of us doing the takoyaki/okonomiyaki, and 1 doing the sushi class, and both happened at once! My only criticism was that once the class ended we had to find our way back to the station, which was a little difficult. This was especially true after the sake tasting, which is 6 glasses of sake straight-up! It was worth it opting for the tasting option, but definitely make sure you take it easy, as it was a lot of sake haha.

Really enjoyable class. Yayo was lovely and friendly and helpful. We learned how to cook different dishes but also learned about normal life in Japan which was really interesting. Loved all the little gifts at the end... The chopsticks and rest we had used.. And also Yayo insisted on giving us both umbrellas when we left as it was raining. So sweet!

This was a hugely enjoyable experience and well worthy of the 5 stars that I and the other reviewers have given it. The class takes place in Yayo's home and she is a delightful and welcoming host who is obviously passionate about cooking. We made a number of dishes see the class description using the 'watch one do one' format and recipe/instruction sheets are provided that you can take away afterwards. Everything tasted delicious and I only wish that I hadn't had breakfast that morning! The meeting arrangements were excellent and the station that you meet at is only a few stops out of central Osaka. This is well worth including in a visit to Osaka.
