Explore the best of Jordan with our range of escorted group tours or plan your own unique adventure with a tailor-made holiday.

Jordan is perhaps best known for the lost city of Petra with its famous Treasury and Monastery. Delve deeper into Jordan and you’ll find the red desert sands of Wadi Rum where you can dine around a crackling bonfire under the desert stars with the welcoming Bedouin tribes. There's the warm coral-filled waters of the Gulf of Aqaba on the Red Sea and the therapeutic waters of the Dead Sea. With Crusader castles, incredible views of the Promised Land from sacred Mt Nebo, Amman - Jordan’s modern capital city, Roman Jerash and the Sea of Galilee, Jordan makes for a truly perfect holiday destination.

I cannot speak more highly of our tour guide in Egypt, Dino. The trip through Egypt was spectacular and Dino was the perfect tour guide. He knew so much about all the places we visited, answered every question and made the whole trip seamless and safe. I would absolutely book w/On the Go again and, more importantly, recommend Dino and the Egypt tour specifically to family and friends in the United States. Trip highlights that I loved: the Felucca Nile River cruise (Mohammed, our boat captain was fantastic! We spent 2 1/2 days swimming in the Nile; sailing the river and visiting a Nubian home and getting to know the family. Abu Simbel is NOT to be missed! Luxor/Valley of the Kings lived up to all of my expectations and Luxor Temple at Night just blew my mind.”

We have had the most fantastic time . Met new and interesting people , been to exciting places ,hiked in Petra and slept in the desert . Both guides were well balanced and with great neutrality, taught us about the countries we were in and gave us an insight not portrayed by the media and politicians .”

Words can’t describe what an extraordinary experience our Road to Jordan trip was. I’ve travelled a lot, with many different tour companies, and I have to say my experience on this trip (particularly in Egypt) was by far and away the best I’ve ever had.

Our Egypt guide Momo was so passionate about his country, and excited to share his vast knowledge of history with us. You couldn’t help but be swept up in his enthusiasm! He always went out of his way to ensure everyone in our group was comfortable and well briefed on our schedule, which was a little hectic (but that’s why I chose this trip, to see as much of Egypt and Jordan as possible, and it was worth the occasional long travel day!). Even with the more difficult-to-please guests (every group has one or two!), he was always patient, kind, calm, and attentive. He handled everything extremely well and always went the extra mile for our group.

Our Jordan guide Eid was equally as knowledgeable and is possibly the kindest man I’ve ever met, it was a real pleasure to travel with him. He was especially good at interacting with each person in the group and ensuring his pace worked for all of us. I saw far too many incredible sites to choose a favourite, though highlights included a hot air balloon ride over the Valley of the Kings, relaxing in Hurghada, and of course seeing the gorgeous Petra in person.

One thing in particular I’d love to give a shout-out to is the quality of the hotels that On the Go chose for us: They were wonderful! Much swankier than any trip I’ve taken before. It was lovely to have such beautiful, luxurious rooms to relax in after a long day of exploring temples and tombs. The food was excellent as well. I met so many fantastic people in our group and we’ll definitely stay in touch (in fact some of us are already planning our next trip together).

If you’re considering this tour, or any others in this region, please don’t listen to any negative comments you may get from friends or family (‘it’s unsafe’, etc). At no point whatsoever did I feel unsafe during this trip. The people we met were so friendly, we saw so many awesome sights, and we were always well taken care of by our guides and drivers. I will definitely return someday!”

While there are so many intriguing historical sites to explore and cultural experiences to be had in Jordan, sometimes all one desires is a little R&R. If this is the case then look no further than the laid-back Red Sea city of Aqaba. Fringed with palm-trees and sandy beaches with gorgeous warm waters brimming with colourful coral reefs, a few days of relaxation here certainly won’t go amiss.

Dana Nature Reserve - Wildlife and trekking

The Dana Nature Reserve is the largest nature reserve in all of Jordan and sprawls across over 300 square kilometres. One of the main features of the park is the ancient village of Dana, which dates back to the 15th century and houses but a handful of residents. Despite its seemingly arid landscape, the Dana Nature Reserve is inhabited by hundreds of species of animal and bird and also boasts an impressive number of different plants.

Hidden away in a secluded valley amidst the mountainous Jordanian landscape, it is no wonder why Petra was lost to the world for hundreds of years before its rediscovery in the 1800s. With the winding narrow passageway of the Siq, impressive Treasury facade, a beautiful hilltop monastery and numerous other monuments you’ll need at least two days to explore.

See the best of Jordan with us

All our trips start in Jordan's vibrant capital Amman and we also include a visit to the Dead Sea as well as 2 nights in Petra, giving you lots of time to explore this amazing site. There's an amazing walk through the iconic Siq to enter Petra, and you're bound to stop in your tracks when you first catch glimpse of the Treasury - it's quite a special moment! After a full day at Petra, where the Monastery is another undoubted highlight, we also get a chance to see the Treasury at night when it is beautifully illuminated by candle light. A night camping the Wadi Rum desert, floating in the Dead Sea and a visit to Mt Nebo with amazing views over to Israel are other key draw cards.
