Jordan Tours and Holidays

Explore the best of Jordan with our range of escorted group tours or plan your own unique adventure with a tailor-made holiday.

Jordan is perhaps best known for the lost city of Petra with its famous Treasury and Monastery. Delve deeper into Jordan and you’ll find the red desert sands of Wadi Rum where you can dine around a crackling bonfire under the desert stars with the welcoming Bedouin tribes. There's the warm coral-filled waters of the Gulf of Aqaba on the Red Sea and the therapeutic waters of the Dead Sea. With Crusader castles, incredible views of the Promised Land from sacred Mt Nebo, Amman - Jordan’s modern capital city, Roman Jerash and the Sea of Galilee, Jordan makes for a truly perfect holiday destination.

We had a wonderful time in Egypt, the places visited are amazing, we had the best group of friends and the best guides: Dino in Cairo, Aswan and Horghada, and Aamer in Luxor!”

Had my dream come true to actually visit Egypt. Momo was extremely knowledgeable and VERY passionate about his culture and his country which was shared with us openly and honestly. He ran the tour very professionally. He made sure we experienced everything we could and bought alive the history of the temples and tombs in an easy to understand way. Our group started as strangers and ended as "family". Thanks are THE best guide.

Thanks for making our trip of a lifetime so awesome x”

Where do I start? This was a true trip of a lifetime that blew me away with how amazing it was. Egypt is amazing and I felt totally safe at all times. My tour guide Haytham was exceptional and went out of his way to provide for our group's desire to get off the beaten track and into the back streets for an authentic experience of Egyptian culture - he deserves every accolade and more. In Jordan Ogla was also excellent and was on hand to help us get the most out of our trip, ensuring we all had fun at every location. The narrative of the tour was stronger in Egypt and I think this was partly the subject matter but also Haytham's skill in bringing the ancient monuments to life with interesting and engaging stories. The Jordan portion of the trip was more focussed on fun experiences followed by relaxation at the dead sea. I personally think that the trip could have left out Hurgada in favour of an extra night or two in Cairo to see more of the city, spend more time at the museum and perhaps visit the famous Khan El Khalili market. Hurgada was a long way to go (both there and back) and didn't have the same culture/adventure/archaeology feel as the rest of the trip. It also felt very rushed on the day we transferred with a 6h drive back to Cairo for 2h at the museum and then 2h drive to the airport to fly to Jordan before another long drive to Wadi Musa. We were exhausted and dehydrated by the end of that day. Is there a sleeper train between Luxor and Cairo like the one we did between Cairo and Aswan?

All up the trip was amazing and I will certainly be booking with On The Go again - thank you for an amazing experience.”

Making your way to Petra
Take the path less travelled

As one of the world's most popular archaeological sites, it's likely you're aware of the narrow Siq that winds its way along towering sandstone rock faces to the awe-inspiring Treasury facade, but did you know there's more than one way to reach the ancient city of Petra? Consider dedicating a few days to this world wonder and approach Petra from all angles with our guide to the best hiking trails.

Recommended places to visit in Jordan

The world-famous ancient city of Petra is just one reason to visit Jordan with beautifully preserved Roman ruins, other-worldly deserts starring in Hollywood films and remarkable natural phenomena competing for your attention. Here's a selection of our favourite destinations in Jordan.

Aqaba - Red Sea Relaxation

View on map

While there are so many intriguing historical sites to explore and cultural experiences to be had in Jordan, sometimes all one desires is a little R&R. If this is the case then look no further than the laid-back Red Sea city of Aqaba. Fringed with palm-trees and sandy beaches with gorgeous warm waters brimming with colourful coral reefs, a few days of relaxation here certainly won’t go amiss.

Dana Nature Reserve - Wildlife and trekking

View on map
Looking out at the jebels in Dana

The Dana Nature Reserve is the largest nature reserve in all of Jordan and sprawls across over 300 square kilometres. One of the main features of the park is the ancient village of Dana, which dates back to the 15th century and houses but a handful of residents. Despite its seemingly arid landscape, the Dana Nature Reserve is inhabited by hundreds of species of animal and bird and also boasts an impressive number of different plants.

Dead Sea - Bob Like a Cork

The Dead Sea | Jordan

Whether you fancy bobbing like a cork or lathering yourself with mineral-rich mud on the shore, a visit to the Dead Sea is an absolute must for any trip to Jordan. The rugged coastline and buoyant blue waters of this popular site have been attracting travellers for centuries that come in search of its beauty and healing properties. Wade in and have a read while lazily floating across the horizon.

Madaba - Mosaics and History

A charming town known for its thriving markets and stunning mosaics which date back to the Byzantine era, Madaba is both an interesting and hospitable stop on any Jordan itinerary. Throughout the city there are a number of boutiques and outlets selling tasteful handmade crafts, particularly tapestries and carpets. For those looking to get more familiar with Madaba’s mosaic-related history, the Archaeological Park and Museum is a great place to start.

Petra - The Lost City

The Siq | Petra | Jordan

Hidden away in a secluded valley amidst the mountainous Jordanian landscape, it is no wonder why Petra was lost to the world for hundreds of years before its rediscovery in the 1800s. With the winding narrow passageway of the Siq, impressive Treasury facade, a beautiful hilltop monastery and numerous other monuments you’ll need at least two days to explore.

Wadi Rum - Wild Desertscapes

Camel trekking | Wadi Rum | Jordan

Renowned for its sandstone landscape of mountains and valleys, natural arches, towering cliffs, narrow gorges and dramatic ramps and caverns formed over millions of years, the Valley of the Moon is nothing less than spectacular. The best way of experiencing Wadi Rum for yourself is by witnessing the sunset over the vast silent horizon and spending a night under the stars.

All our trips start in Jordan's vibrant capital Amman and we also include a visit to the Dead Sea as well as 2 nights in Petra, giving you lots of time to explore this amazing site. There's an amazing walk through the iconic Siq to enter Petra, and you're bound to stop in your tracks when you first catch glimpse of the Treasury - it's quite a special moment! After a full day at Petra, where the Monastery is another undoubted highlight, we also get a chance to see the Treasury at night when it is beautifully illuminated by candle light. A night camping the Wadi Rum desert, floating in the Dead Sea and a visit to Mt Nebo with amazing views over to Israel are other key draw cards.
