This tour was Amazing! Maurico was our tour guide and it was amazing. He was warm, friendly, knowledge and fun. He is also Mayan so he taught and showed us ancient spots that are not in the history books. It's a personal tour so they pick you up in a Mercedes Van. My best friend and I loved the exclusivity. It also worked out in our favor because I broke my charger at the hotel and after the tour my phone was at 4%. Maurico drove to 2 cell phone stores to ensure I had a charger then plugged it in so I could get some charge on the way back to the resort!Again I say awesome. If you like to learn and have fun I highly highly recommend this tour! Thank you Maurico for making our experience memorable!

Wonderful Tour. Tour guide has over 20 years experience - great knowledge, friendly and courteous. Great food at buffet - local food, taco bar, lime soup etc, Chichen Itza is a MUST. Then, when a little baked out from the heat - you go to a sink hole = Cenotes and cool down with a swim in a historic large pool dropping down 100 yards into the ground. This is why you travel.

A fantastic tour. Going in a small group was definitely the way to go. Transportation was timely and comfortable. Our guide was great and able to speak in both Spanish and English. His knowledge of the Mayan culture and Chichen Itza added to the enjoyment of the trip. You could see his pride in his culture. Chichen Itza is truly a wonder of the world and a must visit place. Highlight of our trip to Cancun

This tour was amazing. The driver made sure we were very well taken care of. I loved it!!

Viator was great in arranging a bus pick up from Dreams Puerto Aventuras. The ride was a quick 2 hours with very knowledgeable Carlos. He was kind enough to lend me Pesos because they only accept that for the GoPro admission. No Cenote swim on this. Tacos at the buffet made me ill. Take caution!

Nice tour, but we absolutely melted from the heat...remember to bring your own shade, an umbrella perhaps? If you have a choice, don't go in summer.

Our guide was very knowledgeable about the Mayan history. It was just amazing

Andreas and Faustino picked us up at our Apartment along with 8 other guests from their locations in their very comfortable, air conditioned Van. Faustino was a wealth of knowledge and shared the History of the lands and Communities between Playa Del Carmen and Chichen Itza. They actually took side routes so that we could actually drive through one of the Mayan towns where they reside today. Faustino's knowledge of Chicken Itza was outstanding and his passion for the history heartwarming. We had a wonderful buffet lunch after the tour and enjoyed the wonderful large swimming pool as it was very hot that day. We also had time to go back and buy some gifts before heading back to Playa. This tour was a highlight of our vacation.

Wonderful sight with an ancient history. Very knowledgeable tour guide.

The tour was actually operated by Mayaland Tours. It was a very good tour company. Our tour guide Rosendo and driver Oscar was great. Rosendo is polite and knowledgable and wasn't pushy about selling extra sourvenier. The company uses newer MB vehicles for all their transportation and all the drivers are professional. The tour really don't have a lot of free time to be on your own due to length of travel time from Cancun but enough time to enjoy the site at Chichen Itza. The included buffet lunch at the hotel is average but will satify your hunger but should include at least one freshment suggesion.

The tour was excellent and I recommend taking a full day to see this amazing site, even then we could not fit everything in. The guide Rosendo was very passionate and knowledgeable and brought the tour and history to life.

Brilliant, what an experience, excellent guide, it was a long day but worth it. Make sure you have breakfast before you go.

My trip was great. The van I was picked up on was very comfortable and the ac was super cold! Bring a sweater! However it's a good feeling when you're riding back from the 2-3 hour walk in the heat. Our driver was awesome and our tour guide was very detailed in giving us the history of chichen Itza.

Great Ride and extremely fun. My wife almost passed out and MAURICE the best tour guide told us to go relax and cool off cause the medic that was called said to take break. we thought we would miss the tour but Maurice told us that when he was done he would come back for us and give us a private tour so me and my wife wouldn't miss anything. it was an amazing experience and would only consider using this company from now on. Thanks guys!

Positives: we had a very quick pickup procedure which involved the tour company to send smaller vans out to pick people up and take them to a meeting point. The whole process took less than 10 minutes for us to change to the tour bus and be on our way. This was the same for the return trip. The drivers were all very good, courteous and safe as well as friendly. A larger tour we took earlier in the week was a 2 hour pickup process before we were on our way. The vehicles were all very clean and newer. The only negative was that the smaller size tour bus was fairly small for a few 6 foot guys and the air conditioning did not keep up as well after the hot day on the way back. The rest of the tour was very positive. Our tour guide was Mauricio who is Mayan and was very knowledgeable and passionate about his heritage. He used a few people in the group to demonstrate some of the actions of the Mayans as well and injected some humour when appropriate to make the tour fun. He mentioned his intention of purchasing a Tilley hat for himself for Christmas to protect himself in his time in the hot sun. The final positive of this small group tour was the access we were given to the hotel on site. We were told that we were guests of the hotel and able to use the pool etc if we wished. We had a fabulous lunch in an air conditioned restaurant which we were so grateful for after spending time in the scorching hot sun to see the very amazing 7th wonder of the world

Enjoyed the tour, luncheon, the swimming, but not the van. It was the most uncomfortable ride. The seats were hard, stiff and non moveable. With a total of four plus hours...it was a back breaker.

I must say that I was impressed by Viator from beginning to end. The online booking process was smooth and easy. I even made schedule changes to both of my tours and the amendments were made with no fuss. When I got to Cancun, I realized that a 48-hr window for booking a hotel pickup was recommended. I had less than 24hrs before my tour! I called the local agent's number and they quickly and easily gave me a pickup time. They arrived on schedule in a modern, immaculate tour bus/van. The tour guide Mauricio and driver Benito were dressed very nicely and they were very warm and welcoming. They've done this tour so many times that all the pickups and bathroom stops were perfectly timed to allow us to get to Chichen Itza at an appropriate hour. They gave out bottles of water before the tour began and again for the ride home. FYI, bring bug spray! The walk to the main pyramid was not far. Along the way Mauricio pointed out several structures and he gave us a graphic and dramatic depiction of Mayan life and culture as it related to each spot. My head was spinning with the mathematical significance of these structures and I didn't follow it all. I just know that the Mayans were really smart! After seeing and experiencing the various points of interest, we went to the Hotel for lunch, which is included in the cost of the tour. You must purchase drinks and you are encouraged to tip the Mexican dancers who entertain during the meal. After that, you're free to swim in the pool, lounge at the bar, or go back to the pyramids to take more pictures or shop and bargain with the many, MANY vendors selling various items. And be prepared for the upsale from the tour guide as there are specialty items that they are promoting. Even so, it didn't ruin my enjoyment of the whole day. I highly recommend this tour.

We had an issue with the planetarium option not taking place, but with a little debate were able to get a refund from the establishment. We enjoyed the small group aspect, being in a van instead of on a bus, and our guide was excellent with very good English and excellent knowledge of both the site and Mayan and Mexican history in general. Good trip for history nerds like us, but very hot when standing out in the sun. We were the only 2 to make it to the end of the tour with the guide. Everyone else dropped out to hide in shade or shop with the vendors who line the paths between structures.
