Book this tour! It’s a bit of a challenging hike at times, but worth it for the views and waterfall. Lunch was delicious! Mohammed was a good guide too!”

This tour was a lovely day out for a very reasonable price. Shortly after we were picked up we stopped for a camel ride and they even provided clothing to protect us from the sun, which was fun. We also stopped for tea and saw ladies making Argan oil and tried some of the products. After that we drove to a valley where we met another guide, Hassan, who took us on a walking tour through villages and pathways to a couple of waterfalls, vistas and a nice lunch. For a taste of the Atlas mountains and some contact with the local people, plus some nice sights, I have no hesitation in recommending this tour.”

We were very pleased with our day trip to the Atlas mountains! Lots of great memories. The visit to the women’s Argan oil collective was a great way to start the day… breakfast + tea and then getting to try some of the processes alongside the women. The staff there was very friendly.
The camel ride was just the right length - long enough to get the experience (~30 min) without taking up too much of the day. We had a good hike up to the Berber village stopping at a waterfall along the way. Our guide, Hassan, did an excellent job since the beginning of the trip, of matching the pace of our group and sharing tidbits of information all along the way. Very helpful and considerate. The Lunch in the village was very tasty and the experience was a lot of fun.
However, we think the best part for me was the opportunity to go to Hassan’s home, meet some of his family and have a very special tea outside overlooking the mountains. An experience We’ll never forget!!
This Day Trip is something we fully recommend for those who are like a real local experience.”

The highlight of this day trip from Marrakech to the Atlas Mountains was the section where we met our hiking guide, Hassan. When I travel, I want to learn about the culture and the people, not just eat good food and see the “sights”. At the end of a very long hike up to see a waterfall, and a good tagine lunch at a guesthouse, Hassan invited us to have tea at his own home, a real honor for us all. He told us about the way of life in his village, their struggles, and their sense of community. He made tea for us.
On the way up to the waterfall, he was busy running back to give us old people a hand over the rocks and slippery sections, encouraging us all the time. He showed genuine concern for us all, even as he told us the history of this part of Morocco.. I would highly suggest you book the tour - ask for Hassan!”

We were picked up on time from our hotel by Mohamed Chedaf our driver. The drive to the mountains took about an hour and ten picking up our guide, Omar Bousserhan, on the way. We stopped for a camel ride dressed like Lawrence of Arabia. Great fun. The mountain views and waterfalls were stunning.Better still was our walk up into a Berber village. We were invited in to Omar's sisters house and given mint tea. Great hopitality. The lunch was excellent. Delicious salads and chicken tagine.
We would thorouly recommend this trip. Thank you Omar!”

I highly recommend both a trip to the Altlas Mountains and going through this tour operator! We were picked-up in the morning near our Riad, a despite booking the trip the night before - the logistics went smoothly. The trip began with a 20min drive and a short stop to ride camels. Nothing super special but still fun. We then made another stop at an argan oil cooperative which was nice and more affordable than other similar cooperatives I've visited. As we approached the Mountains, we made multiple stops for photos and saw a beautiful old Berber-Jewish village in the hillside. The driver was kind, pointed out different sites to us, and stopped to show us different views. After about 2hrs of driving, we arrived in Imlil where we met our guide for the rest of the day, Omar.
Omar took us on a 1.5hr-2hr hike through multiple Berber villages and a waterfall. The hike itself should be accessible to most people unless you have any specific health conditions or walking constraints. With the exception of two 15min periods where the hike was steeper, most of the walk was relatively flat. Additionally, Omar kept a good pace, with plenty of quick breaks, frequent check-ins on how we were doing, and a quick stop for tea. Omar was also very friendly and provided good company to the small group. Throughout the hike we saw beautiful mountain passes and villages ticked in between valleys - it was great! The hike ends with a late afternoon lunch at a Berber guest house. The food was quite good and the lunch restful. Overall, a great day trip for anyone looking to escape the chaotic Marrakech medina!”

We had a really great time on this tour even though it was a really long hike! My sister and five year old ended up taking a mule but had a great time. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He served us tea in his home where we met his lovely wife. Lunch was amazing at a local restaurant. I would highly recommend.”

This was such an awesome tour. Mohammed was our driver and Omar our guide. Pickup was punctual, Omar explained the plans for the day. Our first stop was an oil village where they make Moroccan oil. They showed us how they use the buts to produce this amazing oil. Then we went to our next stop and started our hike to the waterfall. It was a pretty steep climb and takes about 2 hours in total for the full hike, so was very happy I opted for the mule ride instead. Then after the waterfall we had an amazing lunch consisting of Moroccan bread, a delicious tomato based appetizer, chicken tagine, and fruit for desert. Finally, Omar took us to his house and served Moroccan mint tea and a delicious chocolate cake.”

Incredible hike through the berber villages and into the atlas mountains. Stunning views. Our guide Mohamed Idali was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Answered any questions and was very helpful. Argan oil was a nice stop, no pressure to buy. Skip the camal ride unless you have children or just want the photos. Would book again!”

This excursion is a MUST if you want to experience the true Morocco of the Atlas Mountains and the lives and culture of the indigenous Berbers who live there.
Our guide Issmail was amazing! Not only was he incredibly considerate and conscious of our differing needs but incredibly knowledgeable too. Everyone throughout the valleys we travelled knew him and showed our party nothing but kindness and hospitality. The food was absolutely delicious too.
We couldn't recommend this trip more...well worth every penny. if you re considering going on this excursion, and we recommend you do,make sure Issmail is your guide and Tichka your driver...they made our day very special and memorable. Thankyou Guys!”

Booked trip for 5 people day before the trip which was 23rd July. Driver Mokhtar made contact same day and we met him next day in an airconditioned Hyundai people carrier. Modern, comfy. Mokhtar was very polite and professional and we went on a camel ride, visited a traditional market then onto Imli which was our destination. There, a local guide Hassan was assigned who took us on a hike to to waterfall and to see the peak of of Mount Atlas. I had an 8 year old so requested a short hike. He looked after us all and then took us for lunch organised by the tour operator and served us food. Mokhar then collected us and drove us back to Marrakesh. We thoroughly enjoyed this trip and our thanks to Mokhtar and to Hassan for making it feel special for us. THANK YOU.”

The day was well organized, breathtaking views and excellent value for money, so much included. We had our 5 year old daughter with us and she loved it, our guide Rashid Amzil was great with her. He also had lots of knowledge about the area. 10/10 the best excursion so far.

My friends and I had a lovely time experiencing and learning more about the Berber community in the Atlas Mountains. Although we were a bit confused about the trip details because our driver himself was not fluent in English, he was still incredibly friendly and helpful to us. Our Berber tour guide was phenomenal. We really enjoyed him telling us more about how the Berber community functions up in the Atlas Mountains, and the views that he took us to were absolutely astonishing. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience!”

Omar, the driver stopped and showed us some great shops and markets along the way. He bought us cookies, he haggled with the vendors on our behalf, and he translated for us.
It was more like a fun party bus than a ride to the waterfalls. He was funny, played music and even took requests on the type of music we wanted to hear.
Hassan, the guide, lead us to the waterfalls was ever sooo sweet. He informed us with vast information about the events and history of the people. The walk was moderate with several stops in between to give information and provide ppl a break .Whenever my friend couldn’t make it up the mountain, he waited with her, carried her bag and was extremely patient. He was thoughtful, encouraging, kind, funny and charming. He was very knowledgeable of all the nature around us. At the very end, he treated the group to some delicious wild mint tea!”

This tour was really a highlight! Our tour guide Hassan Imodn was so accommodating and helpful. He was happy to take tons of pictures for us. He was even so kind to invite us in to is family home at the end of tour where we met his beautiful mother who offered us mint tea. The camel ride was perfect amount of time about 20 minutes. There is a good amount of hiking uphill but can take a mule part way if needed for 10 euros. Lunch was served at a Berber restaurant where we sat up top to a gorgeous view . The chicken tangine was delicious! Overall it was very humbling to see this community and how they live. Such a nice change from the chaos in the city.”

Ibrahim was an excellent guide who grew up in the Imlil valley, so was able to offer us a true local experience. The walk was beautiful through the waterfalls and through the many villages, with snacks and traditional Moroccan food. The camel ride near the end could have been skipped only because we would prefer not to contribute to the poor maintenance of the camels that are just used for quick rides by tourists. I was not interested in adding to the problem, but the people who run the camel part of the tour dress you up in traditional dress very quickly and put you on one without any time to protest. Keep in mind that there are many areas of the day trip that you'll need to tip for - the argan oil cooperative in the beginning of the tour (which we also could have done without since all the other tourist buses stop there too), the food and staff at the village house where you eat lunch, the 15 min camel ride, and of course the guide, who really deserves the bulk of the tip for making the altas mountains hike a success. Our guide Ibrahim was great, really let us see the perspective of a local and showed us areas that were off the beaten path.”

Our guide Lichen zin was very enthusiastic a with a wealth of local and detailed knowledge and really looked after us well throughout the day. The trip is well worth doing with the walking part through the mountains refreshing and beautiful. I am 60 years old and was able to enjoy it all and kept up, warm clothing was not needed on our day. The waterfall was lovely and the Camel ride fun. Take water for the trip”

My husband I travelled with our 7 year old granddaughter. We are young grandparents and quite fit so this suited us. The trip to the mountains was broken up by a few stops which included a camel ride which our granddaughter loved. The vehicle was comfortable and our driver Hassan was friendly and efficient. We were fortunate to have Ibrahim as our guide, he was knowledgable, friendly, thoughtful and extremely good at taking photographs, I have so beautiful family photos on my phone thanks to his talents.
The hike in the mountain was beautiful. Be aware if you are unsteady on rough terrain or not able bodied this trip may not be for you.
Our granddaughter flagged towards the end but Ibrahim was thoughtful and encouraging throughout and put her needs first.
We stopped for lunch at the end of the hike and it was fabulous.
Please book the trip and enjoy, and I hope you are fortunate enough to have Ibrahim as your guide.
I highly recommend it.”
