Day 2

Trek to Amderdiz'in

Marrakech - Amderdiz'in. After breakfast we drive to Imriditsn, the start point of our Atlantic Coast trek. Today's drive is approximately 5 hours and we will have refreshment stops and lunch along the way. From Imriditsn we'll walk for approximately 2 hours to the fishing village of Amderdiz'in and our camp located high on the cliffs with wonderful ocean views. There will be time to wander to the beach below before dinner and our first night of camping.
Overnight: Amderdiz'in (camping)  |  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3

Tafeda Coastal Trek

Amderdiz'in - Tafeda. After breakfast we continue our trek, at a relaxed pace, high above the coast line looking down on hidden bays and crashing waves. We head to the small fishing village of Tafeda, where we will camp for the night. Tafeda was once an important Portuguese sea port but today it is a small fishing village and we make camp just outside the village.
Overnight: Tafeda (camping)  |  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4

Deserted beaches

Tafeda - Sidi Ahmed Assayh. Our trek today takes us into a wild landscape of argan forest, where goats graze on the scrubby plants. We eventually drop down and walk beside the waves, along deserted beaches to our camp at Sidi Ahmed Assayh. The camels take a different route today, due to the terrain so we'll take a picnic to enjoy along the way. Tonight we camp next to the sea which is remarkable and can take a stroll along the beach before we settle down for dinner.
Overnight: Sidi Ahmed Assayh (camping)  |  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5

Towering sand dunes

Sidi Ahmed Assayh - River Boud. After breakfast we take a scenic walk above the Atlantic, passing through several Berber villages and hamlets en route to a beautiful landscape of towering dunes. We set up camp beside the Boud River which cuts through the dunes to the sea. This is a wonderful location close to a picturesque waterfall and the beach. The waterfall is ideal for a refreshing shower and the dunes are great for exploring.
Overnight: The Boud River (camping)  |  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 6

The Boud River - Essaouira. Today is the final leg of our trek and we enjoy an incredibly scenic walk from one deserted beach to the next with spectacular wide ocean views. Finally we reach the wide expanse of Sidi Kaouki which is popular among wind surfers. Here we bid farewell to our camel drivers and the camels and board a minibus for a 40 minute drive to Essaouira. Enclosed by medieval-looking battlements and framed by the Atlantic Coast, the picture-perfect town of Essaouira is one of Morocco's most charming beach resorts. This afternoon there's time to explore medina within the original city walls with its maze of narrow alleyways lined with shops selling everything from tea to spices, tagine pots to leather shoes.
Overnight: Essaouira  |  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 7

Essaouira - Marrakech. This morning we drive back to Marrakech. After checking in and freshening up the afternoon is free to visit the Djemaa el-Fna and exploring the souks. This evening we'll enjoy our final meal together.
Overnight: Marrakech  |  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 8

Our tour comes to an end after breakfast today. Complimentary airport transfers are provided.

Is This Holiday For You?

This holiday is fully supported with a trek crew and camels which carry our equipment, therefore you only need to carry a small day pack. Each day involves coastal walking with ascents and descents on a variety of terrain including mule tracks, sand dunes, cliff top paths, and sandy beaches. We'll be walking for around 4 to 5 hours with frequent breaks for dipping feet in the sea, and exploring beaches. The Moroccan sun can feel hotter in the middle of the day during July and August, however the Atlantic Coast has a cooling breeze from the sea which makes the temperatures pleasant for walking.

Before booking this trip please refer to the Trip Notes for further information about the trek, including the distance covered each day.
