A very good and professsional guide. Lots of cheese tasting samples. Wooden shoes workshop was a nice touch.

excellent and interesting tour, well run and organized. Good value for the money spent. Would recommend to all, nice to get away from the city for a bit.

You learn a lot from this countryside tour, particularly the demonstration of the Dutch cheesemaking and clogmaking processes. Viewing the windmills is also a really interesting experience for all of us.

I would highly recommend taking this tour to give you a sense of what the Dutch countryside looks like. Each stop along the way truly allowed us to experience the traditional way of gouda cheese making (and tasting it), walking through the storybook-like town of Volendam, and the picturesque town of Edam. All along the way, our tour guide provided excellent commentary on the history of each stop so we were completely informed as to what we were seeing. The last stop was the outdoor museum at Zaanse Schans which featured a demonstration of clog making and provided plenty of opportunities to snap pictures of the windmills. I happened to come across the Bakery Museum which is so quaint inside while I sipped on hot chocolate and enjoyed a warm apple beignet. This tour was definitely a highlight of my trip to Amsterdam!

We had a great guide with a great personality that gave interesting facts in a lively manner. The tour was on time and kept to the schedule. Highly recommend seeing these places and it’s much easier with the tour than on your own.

It was a very nice experience, the guide was very helpful, the driver was very careful and gentle and the places we have visited were definitely worth -to- see!

The tour was excellent! The tour guide speaks very good english and is extremely fun and detailed in the info she provides. It is one of the must do tours as an escape from the City and to know more about culture and specifics of Dutch people.

We absolutely loved this tour! The tour guide, Richard, gave us lots of interesting commentary about the culture and countryside. The bus was comfortable and the itinerary was well organized. We absolutely loved the fishing village of Volendam. We could have spent the whole day there, but thoroughly enjoyed the time we did have there. The Edam tour was lovely as well, and of course the windmill stop was quite breathtaking. The clog and cheese demonstrations were ok, and we did enjoy getting to sample the various cheeses. The countryside was so beautiful, and we had time to take many wonderful pictures to remember the trip by. I would recommend this tour without reservation.

Enjoyed this tour. Gave excellent information on the reclaiming of land from the sea, loved the Edam Cheese factory and fishing village. Wish we could have eaten at the fishing village - it was getting past lunch time by the time we got the the windmill part of the tour, however the restaurant at the windmill's was very good

This was a well-organized tour with an English speaking tour guide, giving you a glimpse of what is life in this part of Netherlands. Plenty of opportunities for picture taking with Edam having the most "instagrammable" places. Definitely a tour that should not be missed!

Our tour guide, Maria, was wonderful!! She is very knowledgeable and had the right amount of talking and quiet! She was very available for each guest who had questions!

Two of us did this tour in May 2019 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cheese farm was great with the cheese tastings, watching the clogs being made - fascinating, would have liked a little more time in Volendam as it is so pretty. The tour guide was excellent and the information about the dykes and the windmills was fantastic. Would thoroughly recommend this to anyone who has not been to Holland.

This is a must-see tour. I suggest to buy the I-Amsterdam city card before travelling as it includes the entries to additional attractions

Excellent tour in which we learned a lot of history, as well as how products such as wooden shoes and Edam and Gouda cheese is made/created. It was a cold day for us, but the countryside is beautiful and our multilingual guide was very entertaining and full of useful knowledge. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone, especially families.

Don't miss this tour! Loved the charming, picturesque villages and the windmills. Punctual, informative guides. No matter how beautiful Amsterdam is, the countryside is memorable. On finalizing our tour, they dropped us off a short 5 minute walk away from a free ferry to the downtown area where you have quick access to restaurants, shopping, Madame Tussauds, the Royal palace, etc.

This is the second tour of this type we have taken and we loved every minute of it. We actually wish we had booked the longer tour so we could spend more time at each location. Especially Zaanse Schans. Juliet was our guide and she did an excellent job. Considering you are dealing with about 20 people all with their own personalities and wants, she was able to keep us all in check and well entertained. She was very knowledgeable about the places we visited and made us feel like a good friend was showing us around, not a paid guide. Hank, our bus driver was excellent as well. How he dealt with small spaces and backing the HUGE bus up amazed me. Be prepared with WATER and Snacks as there really isn't time to stop to eat! You can leave bags on the bus as well while visiting your next stop. I look forward to booking again through Viator for our next vacation!

Must-do tour when in Amsterdam! A small break from the buzz of the city.

This was an excellent day trip away from Amsterdam. We had a chance to see Dutch life and the beautiful countryside. Our guide was super informative, kid, and very accommodating. We had our children elementary aged who loved this excursion. Many beautiful sights and interesting aspects of Dutch culture to be learned. The stop in Edam was amazing and the cheese delicious. The Voldendam stop was nice, but really touristy. We wished we could have had more time in the little fishing village. Get a fresh fried cod fish sandwich and try the mini pancakes.
