Our Essentials Range
A group tour experience for adventurous travellers
On our Essentials range, we’ve kept things simple to give you amazing experiences at a great price. You can squeeze the most out of your destination, without worrying about your wallet. From overland camping safaris in Africa to off the beaten track adventures in South America and Central Asia, we bring you the best experiences the world has to offer – and at great value prices.
As well as guided sightseeing of the key sites, there’s plenty of free time to explore independently or take part in optional excursions so you can focus on doing just the things that suit you. We’ve given you the flexibility to eat how you want too, by making most of the meals optional. You can save your pennies and eat beans all trip or splurge the money you saved on your tour at a fancy restaurant; we won’t judge!
While you’re with us, you’ll be travelling the way the locals do – think buses, trains and feluccas – to really get under the skin of your destination. Although we’ve kept costs down, these trips are far from slumming it, with accommodation spanning everything from dome tents to the occasional fancy hotel. Group sizes tend to be a little larger on our Essentials range to give you a social and fun travel experience with like-minded travellers, and really help you get the most out of your holiday.
A lot of our Essentials tours include a local payment. As well as keeping up front costs down for you, it means that even more of your money stays within the local area. Cost-effective trips and great for the community; can’t be bad!

Many tours in our Essentials range include a local payment and this pricing system helps keep the costs of your trip down. Your money is also instantly put back into the local economy and supports the people you'll interact with.
While our Essentials tours offer guided sightseeing of the key highlights in each destination, there’s plenty of free time to explore at your own pace too. We also offer a variety of optional activities that you are able to pay for locally.

From cycling through the landscapes of Yangshou in China to floating on the Dead Sea in Jordan, our Essentials tours are packed with authentic experiences. So you'll be returning home with some incredible memories.
Your group will be led by passionate tour leaders that are incredibly knowledgeable about each of the destinations you are travelling. They'll ensure that the trip runs smoothly and be able to provide you with support if needed.
Depending on the destination, you’ll be travelling by private and public transport on our Essentials tours. Think beyond buses to traditional feluccas in Egypt, junk boat cruises in Vietnam and the famous bullet train in Japan.
Accommodation is a big part of our Essentials tours, ranging from camping to surprise 4* accommodation. Traditional ryokans in Japan, desert camps in Jordan and sailboats in Croatia are just some examples of what we have to offer.
On our Essentials itineraries we include only a few meals, allowing you the freedom to choose exactly where you eat and how you spend your evenings. There’s also the bonus of helping you stay in control of your spending (as well as freeing you up to try some tasty street food).
