“
This tour is mostly self-guided, but Ian, our driver who took us to and from the boat tour and back to Inverness was highly entertaining and provided us with a lot of information about Loch Ness and its history. We had perfect weather as we enjoyed our hour long cruise down Loch Ness and onto Urquhart Castle. The castle was amazing, and I only wish we had more than an hour to have toured it. If you go fairly quickly you're able to see just about everything, but if you don't feel like rushing, I recommend spending most your time strolling around the castle. The views are stunning, and we were lucky enough to have perfect weather that day. Great tour to go on if you don't want something that will take all day long!”

“
We had a wonderful time on our tour to Urquhart Castle. The bus driver Allan was amazing. He kept up a stream of story telling throughout our ride to the boat. He then met us at the end and drove us back to Inverness. Someone heard that it was Allan's birthday so we all sung happy birthday to him -- he was wonderful and hilarious! The cruise to Urquhart was just as good with breathtaking views and a they had special kind of chocolate drink with whiskey in it at the bar. The cruise director told us more stories about the lochs and warriors and even sang a couple of Scottish songs. I would definitely recommend taking this trip -- less than 3 hours in total and you see so much! Very enjoyable.”

“
Fantastic tour. Our guide was excellent! Quick trip by boat on the Loch to the castle, perfect timing, Just enough time to feel you've had time to look for Nessie and explore the castle, which is very well preserved for a ruin with lots of visual guides. A very well spent afternoon!”

“
Beautiful one hour cruise from the Caledonian canal into Loch Ness. Great guide, lots of interesting information and he even sang us a few songs! Visit to Urquart castle was beautiful, but felt a bit rushed. No time to see the castle and the visitor center, so we just saw as much of the castle as we could and then had to hurry to find where the bus would pick us all up. More than one hour at the castle/visitor center would have been better. Other than feeling a bit rushed at Urquart, we very much enjoyed the tour. Gorgeous scenery on Loch Ness, beautiful and interesting ruins at Urquart.”

“
Excellent tour guide Alan. Very informative tour needed a bit longer at the castle, can't do the film and souvenir shop, had to be one or other. However very enjoyable time thanks to Alan's commentary.”

Great trip - Alan was a great tour host - informative, entertaining and helpful.
All aspects were enjoyable, the coach journey and sights, the boat ride and the castle. With only two days in Inverness this was the perfect way to get a taste of what is on offer.”

“
I originally just signed up to do the cruise for an hour but didn't want to get to the hotel starting point, from Inverness, on my own. I decided to see the castle and I'm so glad I opted for this option. I'm happy Nessie wasn't hungry enough to try and eat us. I learned an incredible amount of information about Scotland, past and present, from this tour. If one is limited on time, this is worth it as it's only a couple of hours. Make sure to also watch the 8 minute video about the Castle. I like the showmanship of how they do it. You'll just have to go as I won't ruin the theatrics. By the way, if old enough, get the hot chocolate with Whisky on the Loch.”

“
This was a great day trip from Inverness. Our driver Alan provided a really good introduction and commentary. The boat trip out on the Loch was stunning. The one hour to wander around the castle ruins was the perfect amount of time and I snuck into the final 8 minute video session at the information centre which provided a good history of the castle. All in all, great value for money.”
