Hot springs, waterfalls and horses
Reykjavik - Borgarnes. After pick up in Reykavik, we first head towards a town called Borgarfjordur, home to Europe’s biggest hot spring, Deildartunguhver. Opt to visit the Krauma geothermal baths or head to a nearby horse farm to see some native Icelandic horses. Afterward, we head towards Reykholt, where we visit two waterfalls unlike any others in the world: Hraunfossar and Barnafoss. As the day draws to an end, we’ll head to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula where we try to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights - keep your eyes peeled!
Please note that we strongly recommend arriving in Reykjavik the day before your tour starts. We are happy to help you book pre-tour accommodation if required.
Overnight: Borgarnes
The Snaefellsnes Peninsula
Borgarnes - Reykjavik. After breakfast, we visit Djupalonssandur Beach. On the way, we can soak up the beautiful alpine and coastal scenery of western Snaefellsnes. We enjoy a short walk along the coast, ending with magnificent views of Iceland’s most photogenic mountain, Kirkjufell. Snaefellsnes is known for its diverse and artistic landscapes, and is often referred to as “Iceland in a nutshell.” We’ll cap the day off with spectacular views of Snaefellsjokull, the monumental glacier. We then drive back to Reykjavik, stopping en route if we catch the magical Northern Lights appearing in the sky.

Exploring South Iceland
Reykjavik - Hof. Leaving Reykjavik once more, we head along the south coast, taking in some of Iceland's most important natural wonders. We see the famous Seljalandsfoss waterfall and can enjoy a walk behind this falling curtain of water. We also visit nearby Skogafoss, located at the base of the infamous Eyjafjajokull volcano which erupted in 2010, causing massive European travel chaos.
Then it's on to the black lava beach of Reynisfjara, where black basalt stacks rise from the waves. We pass through the small town of Vik on our way to the hotel in Hof, where the night is spent hunting for the Northern Lights, so long as the conditions are right.
Overnight: Hof | Breakfast
Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon
Hof - Reykjavik. We begin our final day with a visit to the awe-inspiring Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach. The giant icebergs of Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon splinter into thousands of pieces and wash ashore, giving Diamond Beach its name. We also have the chance to go inside a natural ice cave, accompanied by a qualified guide.
On our way back to Reykjavik, we stop off at Vatnajokull National Park. Within the national park, Skaftafell Nature Reserve is a green oasis in the middle of jagged mountains and snow-capped peaks. We then begin our return journey to Reykjavik. As always, we will keep our eyes peeled for the Northern Lights, stopping if we catch a glimpse of them.
We plan to arrive back in Reykjavik between 21:00 and 23:00 when your tour will come to an end. If you'd like to stay in the city for a few days to further explore, then we are happy to arrange post-tour accommodation for you!
