From the moment John met us at our hotel, we became immersed in the culture, history and beauty of the city and the country. Without his explanations we would not have had the understanding of what we were looking at and why it was important. And it was a lot of fun! The traffic in the city is crazy and he maneuvered around everything to get to all the places we visited. He never rushed us so we had plenty of time to take photos. It just could not have been better and if you are visiting Buenos Aires, this is the tour to give you the most. John even took us to see a sculpture of a racing car when he found out that my husband is into cars. I think his tour would be good for couples and those with children as well.

The tour with John was fabulous. I learned so much history and saw the major attractions. He spent just the right amount of time at each attraction, and was incredibly knowledgeable and interesting. I highly recommend this tour!!

Harold was a dream. Exhausted from our long flight he picked us up at the airport so we had no worries about getting to know the town. He knew the best place for lunch then proceeded to fill the balance of our day with interesting history, beautiful rose gardens and a local market to get the most unique of gifts.

We feel that we were shown a wonderful cross-section of Buenos Aires on this tour. Our guide John was very knowledgeable and taught us a great deal about the history and culture of this lovely city. The pace of the tour was great...we had an adequate time to tour each stop and were able to get our questions answered. Saw enough of Buenos Aires to make us want to visit again in greater depth!

Howard did a great job. Good background info all along the way and visited some locations you won’t get on “Grayline”.

My wife and I enjoyed a private tour of Buenos Aires with John. John was punctual for our hotel pick up and we really enjoyed hearing about his move to the UK to Argentina where he now has settled with his family. The tour was in his own vehicle, very clean and tidy, plenty of room for two of us but also plenty of room for 4 adults if needed. John was extremely knowledgeable about Buenos Aires and Argentina in general. We learned about the social and economic history of the place and what it's like to live in Argentina today. A particular highlight for my wife and I was the memorial gardens for the Missing. It's odd to say that one enjoys a memorial to some of the most horrific acts in history, but we didn't expect to be as moved as we were on visiting the site. It also helped us understand current social and political issues in Argentina today. We also visited the Floris Generica, Recoleta cemetery including a detailed tour of the place with interesting stories, not just a visit to Evita's tomb the Malvinas/Falklands war memorial and La Boca where we had a short walk and a lovely lunch in a good establishment recommended by our guide. We also saw a great amount of the city from John's car and he was more than happy to pull over at different points if we were interested in something. This included important buildings, parks, architecture, bridges and statues. We also slightly tailored the tour, skipping the Casa Rosada at our request we had visited it the day before on foot and San Telmo as we were staying in this area anyway Overall the tour was excellent. We probably ran over the 5 hours quoted on Viator and we came away from the tour with a better understanding of Buenos Aires but also Argentina as a whole. John was flexible to our needs and always had an answer to any of our questions. Highly recommended!

John Boyle was an excellent tour guide. He picked us up promptly at the port. His car was air conditioned and comfortable. We only had a day and a half to tour BA before we boarded our cruise ship. So we only saw a small amount of BA, mostly limited to the area around our hotel. John's tour was amazing. He included major historical sites like la Recoleta cemetery and the memory park dedicated to the thousands of argentines who disappeared/ were murdered under the then dictatorship. Hhe has a vast knowledge of the history of this country. We never would have been able to see all the sights that John had included in this tour if we had done it on our own! I would highly recommend this tour. It was a 5 star experience! Gracias John !!

We were fortunate to have John Boyle as our tour guide. He was prompt, friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He was very well informed regarding the culture and history of Buenos Aires. I left my sun glasses in his car and he went out of his way to meet us to return them. Highly recommended.

Our guide, John Boyle, is a walking history book of Argentina. We gained a whole new understanding of Argentine history, where the country has been and where it appears to be going. We were shown all of the important historical and cultural sights of the city. In addition, we found John to be very accommodating and a likable chap to spend the day with. You will learn things that you cannot understand by wandering around Buenos Aires by yourself.

Howard gave us a very good overview of the city and made suggestions as to where to go when we stayed in the city He also took us to a very cool non tourist trap restaurant for a very tasty lunch, This tour was so much better then being herded on a bus with 60 other tourists! Highly recommend

John Boyle, punctual pick up, knowledgeable, flexible, patient, pleasant, a true gentleman with a good sense of humour. John is bi-lingual, English is his first language and he speaks fluent Spanish. The value of a private tour is the personal touch, flexibility of itinerary and you have the undivided attention of the tour guide. We had John and he is FABULOUS!!! We visited the memorial to honour the victims of state terrorism in Argentina's recent history 1974-1983. It is a haunting and humbling experience. Everyone who visits Buenos Aires should visit the memorial. Recoleta Cemetery was an interesting place. Don't just enter, turn left and take a selfie at Eva Peron's mausoleum, there is so much more to this unique cemetery but you need to visit with someone who knows the history of some of the families and personalities - go with John! Nearby is a well known cafe La Biela where we enjoyed the best cup of tea of our month in North and South America, served in a tea pot. The cafe is trendy and attracts politicians, celebrities and people who want to be seen. We just wanted a cuppa. We saw lots of sites around central Buenos Aires, Plaza de Mayo, central parks with monuments, the memorial to the fallen at the Falkland Islands, the once tallest building in South America built as an act of vengeance by a woman scorned. John will fill you in on the details. A visit to La Boca is worthwhile. It is a derelict part of town where there has been an effort by some locals to draw in tourists by painting the buildings bright colours and offering cafes with live tango dancers and a variety of stores. We ate empanadas and watched a tango show. My travelling companion and I are middle aged women and do things at our own pace. John was extremely accommodating, didn't rush us, answered loads of questions and although we saw and did a lot in a short period of time, we felt relaxed and were able to get a feel for the places we visited. We enjoyed the tour so much we booked John to go to the Tigre Delta. Book a private tour with John, it is worth it!
