Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Important InfoInfo
Sugar Loaf Mountain is a peak situated in Rio de Janeiro that rises 1,300 feet (396 meters) above the harbor. Its image is recognized worldwide as one of the symbols of Brazil and is well-known for its glass-walled cable car that takes you to the top of the mountain. More than a million tourists visit Sugar Loaf each year to enjoy a 360-degree view of Rio de Janeiro. The complex at the top also houses a food court and restaurant, so you can treat yourself to some nibbles and drinks (own expense).

Your prebooked ticket entitles you to skip the main lines for both of Sugar Loaf's two cable cars. Upon arriving at Sugar Loaf, head straight for the "Exclusive Tickets" entrance (on the left hand side) and exchange your voucher for an admission ticket, granting you access to the next cable car up the mountain. The cable cars run every 20 minutes from 8:10am through 9pm and the last car down departs from the summit at 8:40pm.

Once at the top, sit back, relax and take in the breathtaking views that surround you. You can spend as much time as you want at the top - there are no time constraints! Your ticket is valid for any returning cable car.

The bondinho, as it is known in Brazil, holds 65 people and takes three minutes to go up to the first mountain, Morra da Urca, and an additional three minutes to reach the summit. With jaw-dropping views of the ocean and the city, Sugar Loaf is definitely a must-see when in Brazil!

The visit went well after slight difficulty as to which window to go to and get tickets. Only downfall was the weather but that is totally out of your control !

On a clear day, this is a most enjoyable way to explore all the breathtaking sights of Rio de Janeiro. Well organised, modern and safe cable car, lovely walking paths, great variety of places to have a drink or a snack.

Fantastic VIP experience, with this ticket I was able to bypass the long lines and I was the first person to enter the gondela. Fantastic views from the top.

We had VVIP treatment with our Skip the Line Admission ticket. We were ushered into an air-conditioned waiting area, away from the crowds then took the next train which came within 5 mins! The cable car ride was scenic on a clear day. We took our time to enjoy the view and cool weather at the summit. Coming back was a breeze even though we did not have 'Skip the Line' privileges on descent

The experience went exactly as advertised. We went to the express window, and were escorted behind the lines to be first in line for the next car. I was amazed at the treatment we received. I will not hesitate to use this service in the future when available. And by the way, the view from the top of Sugar Loaf down on Rio and surrounding area in amazing!

Amazing experience all around! Skip the Line ticket was great, they had massive queues when we got there, but because of this special ticket we went straight up, no queue, great customer service, we were very impressed! It was a sunny day in Rio and the views from the mountains were just mind-blowing, what a city! We had an awesome time, we highly recommend it!

The experience was amazing. Remember there are 2 lifts that are needed to be taken to get to the top. Indeed the first list is express, however the second lift is not express - you still need to wait a long time in order to get to top I needed to negotiate our way to express line on second lift. The experience is still amazing especially at sunset.

The price is good but if going so early as I did in a holiday day, there was not line. AM

Though we could skip the line with our pre-purchased tickets, we could not skip the line to go up on the second gondola. We had no idea the line would be so long and the signs pointing out where to go were not clear. We did not feel like standing in line for what would probably have been 90 minutes to go the rest of the way. Disappointed!
